In the middle of a den of lions, Daniel was able to experience rest and peace as he trusted in God to fight his battle. Lions are all around us every day—they can be loud, intimidating and exhausting—they will do everything possible to divert your focus onto them and then devour you. But God promises that as we stay focused on and trust in Him, He will give us peace in the middle of chaos and rest when we’re surrounded by hungry lions!

He killed a lion that jumped out on him but later that lion became a source of temptation. Though he was forbidden to touch a dead carcass, he touched this lion he had previously killed because it contained honey. If we’re not careful, even our greatest victories can become an avenue for our strongest temptations.

Humbling yourself before God

When someone has wronged you or offended you in some way, are you able to simply let it go and refuse to take offense? This week, we learn that if we continuously hold onto our hurts and offenses, God can’t work in our lives like He desires. We need to trust that God knows what is best for our lives and the relationships that are in them.

When relationships ask too much of you, do you know when to walk away? This week we examine the relationships in our lives that command the most attention and whether it is healthy for us to keep them.

Fighting will happen, conflict is inevitable, but in all the fighting and chaos how can we fight fair? By focusing on “what’s the goal in all of these engagements” we will learn how to identify conflict before it even happens.
