There are many things in life that we claim to love—“I love dogs”, “I love coffee”, “I love college football”—but have you ever heard anyone say, “I love my Church!”? It seems a lot of people have thoughts about the church but unfortunately, most of them are negative. Join us for this great new series as we discover why so many people at The Bridge are saying, “I Love My Church!”

The everyday battle of spending time with God is the easiest battle to win. We just have to do our job by showing up! The Lord invites us to spend time with Him just like we would spend time with a person in our life, with two-way, intentional communication. We will discuss the myths and guidelines of having a personal devotional time with God.

Jesus told this story to a group of Pharisees. Because of their self-righteousness, they had become clouded in their thinking. This happens to us as well. Our self-righteousness affects how we see ourselves, how we see others and how we see the Father. We need to never forget that I was a great sinner, but Christ is a great Savior.

Our heavenly Father yearns for us to change our hearts toward Him because He treasures each of us as precious, valuable, and unique. The father of the prodigal son battled with the wait for his son’s heart to change. He wanted nothing more than to bring his son home and eagerly watched and waited for his precious, valuable, and unique son to return by his own free will. We will discover that we are precious, valuable and unique.

Our soul (will, mind and emotions) continues to desire the throne of our life. But the Spirit, who has made us new, has other plans. It’s a battle that all believers face.
