THINGS ARE FASTER AND MORE AVAILABLE THAN EVER BEFORE IN OUR SOCIETY. CONSEQUENTLY, WE FEEL THAT WE MUST DO MORE, MOVE QUICKER AND ADJUST CONSTANTLY IN ORDER TO GET AHEAD IN LIFE! THE PROBLEM WITH THIS MINDSET IS THAT WE RARELY FOCUS OR WORK ON ANYTHING LONG-TERM. WE OFTEN LACK THE PATIENCE AND CONSISTENCY TO ATTAIN LONG RANGE GOALS AND TO BECOME ALL THAT GOD DESIGNED US TO BE. TO AVOID BEING HABITUALLY DISTRACTED IN A FAST PACED WORLD REQUIRES AN UNWAVERING ATTACHMENT AND FOCUS ON THE IMMOVABLE, UNCHANGING GOD!

THE PIÑATA IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF EVERY PARTY PROVIDING INSTANT GRATIFICATION WHEN IT EXPLODES WITH CANDY! IT’S ALSO A GREAT PICTURE OF A CULTURE THAT HABITUALLY PURSUES FAST ANSWERS AND INSTANT GRATIFICATION CAUSING US TO BECOME PRETTY SHALLOW CREATURES. AN ICEBERG, ON THE OTHER HAND, IS ALL ABOUT THE MASS OF SUBSTANCE JUST BENEATH THE SURFACE THAT NO ONE SEES AT A GLANCE. OUR CHALLENGE FOR THE NEW YEAR IS TO BECOME PEOPLE OF SUBSTANCE BY CREATING HABITS THAT LEAD TO A DEEPER DEPENDENCY ON OUR CREATOR.
