  • "Find Freedom in Discipline" with Brittany Wheeler

    About Episode

I spent most of my life controlled by my emotions. I was a victim of “I will do it later”. Or “Just one more episode.” It became this really debilitating cycle where I would choose the feeling of not wanting to complete the task over the need to do it. Becoming healthy, going sober and even mastering timeliness were areas of my life I desired to be freed from. A moment happened when I realized, what if I start small? What if I chose to fold my laundry right when it was done? What if I put the dishes in the dishwasher right away? It was years of doing the small things consistently that led to the breakthrough of sobriety and emotional eating. I know you too can overcome the battle of procrastination vs discipline. Join me as I encourage you to take the steps beginning with everyday tasks to unlock the freedom you desire.

    • Growth is a choice
    • Discipline is hard, and doesn’t come easy
    • “Discipline is doing something long after the feeling of doing it is gone.”
    • You can be freed from procrastination with practicing discipline
    • The disappointment from not being disciplined will have a greater impact on your mentally than actually doing what you needed to do
    • You can create joy in practicing discipline by using the habit stacking rule
    • As a result of practicing discipline it becomes who you are and then you do everything how you do one thing
    • You become the person people can count on, who shows up on time, who goes above and beyond

  • "Good Things Come In Small Packages" with Nicole Burke

    About Episode

Every interview I have is such a gift. But this interview is so special because I am talking with my cousin and one of the most important people in my life, Nicole Burke. Medical conditions and obstacles of daily living have plagued her life. Spending most of her early childhood at Boston Children’s hospital or other medical facilities, sometimes breathing was all that Nicki and her family could focus on. We are only four months apart and she was not supposed to live days, weeks or months after her arrival date. But now 33 years old, a Special Olympic gold medalist, I think Nicki is just getting started. This conversation marks a new season for Nicki and I know that God has beautiful plans for her. Join Nicki and I as we talk about the hard things in her life and the way she overcomes daily challenges.

Nicki has been losing her hearing more aggressively as time goes on, and so I prepared for the episode knowing she might not fully hear me. But about 10 minutes into our conversation I noticed she wasn’t looking at her notes, that in fact she could hear me. The headphones and professional equipment created a way for us to have a beautiful conversation in which I was able to add questions we didn't prepare for. Praise God for allowing this moment to happen and creating a way for us to bless people with Nicki’s story.

    • Nicki’s parents were told that she would not make it days after blessing us here on earth
    • She is now 33 and has overcome and dealt with impossible medical challenges
    • Nicki was diagnosed with campomelic dysplasia; affects a person's growth including eyesight, hearing and other physical challenges
    • LPA (Little People Association) is an organization that creates space for little people allowing them to experience life with many of those who have the same challenges
    • A concept like closed captions allows an individual with hearing loss like Nicki to experience shows and movies the way someone with complete hearing can
    • A Make A Wish recipient, Nicki’s wish was meeting Cinderella at Disney World and became an ambassador for many years
    • During Covid Nicki’s condition made her high risk and it was during that time she began to work on her health, work out and grow stronger
    • Now a gold medalist in the Special Olympics Bowling ramp division, Nicki has found she can conquer anything she puts her mind to
    • Special Olympic bowling has started up again for the 2024 season

  • Finding Fulfillment in Unfamiliar Places with Milton Young

    About Episode:
It seemed like the world didn’t want Milton Young to thrive. Even his guidance counselor spoke limiting belief over his future. As a first generation American he knew how to work hard, and wasn’t going to settle for anything less than his desire for more. His determination and grit to be what everyone told him he couldn’t led him to that exact place. He had money, traveled and had so many experiences. However, he lacked the joy he never knew he was seeking. A confrontation with his past forced Milton to determine if what he fought so hard to accomplish was worth it. Join Milton and I as we talk about his journey to finding joy and realizing that his passions and gifts will make a difference in the community and the world.

    • Be willing to receive and be GIFTED with opportunities
    • Don’t allow ANYONE to pour disbelief over you regardless of their intentions
    • Show up, be determined and you can achieve what you put your mind to
    • The money IS NOT everything, there is so much more to be fulfilled
    • Knowing the person across from you, take the time to understand them
    • Being kind CAN be a part of you and your framework when you “flex the muscle” each day
    • Do the things that make you uncomfortable or you fear. They might just be the things that bring you the most joy
    • Live in the uncomfort because you never know what will happen as a result of that action
    • Don’t STOP because that can be the ONLY difference between where you want to be and who you want to become
    • It is ok to desire abundance and your heart is to change lives and make a difference
    • Choosing uncomfort is hard BUT it will allow you to grow
    • Be so uncomfortable that being comfortable feels uncomfortable

  • "God's Redirection for Protection" with Kalley Niebuhr

The tale told often is of rejection and defeat. But what if the ending was for your good and for a life much richer than you could imagine? Listen to my conversation with Kalley Niebuhr as we talk about how she went from Hollywood to Wilmywood and from producing TV shows to producing children's books. Her incredible journey and getting "bamboozled" by God into the life of her dreams.

    • Grew up with parents who encouraged looking for her "God given gift"
    • Storytelling and creating stories was an immediate passion and calling she identified
    • But took a pivot to TV and Hollywood, regardless of whether it was best for her
    • What brought you joy and comfort in your past, can still bring you comfort in the present
    • Adapting and changing these moments to align with your life and what matters is so important
    • Kalley is taking these childhood moments and bringing them to life with her Husband Cole. Learning what they want to enjoy and create together
    • God will force the door closed if you are not listening
    • The nudge and whisper from God will continue as he calls you closer to him and what he is calling you too
    • Fighting against the noise and the opinions of others is key to staying on the path to what you are called to
    • Resting allows you to be present in your calling, but also rebuilding to who you need to be
    • Learning to say no or when you say yes and it doesn't serve you, be ok to say no
    • Learn to pause and assess your commitments so you don't overcommit, set the boundary
    • Storytelling in L.A. was not the way, but storytelling was STILL Kalley's calling
    • Kalley has partnered with her mother to create a children's book and publishing company
    • How Kalley has been called in this season is generational- and will continue to impact her children and her family for years to come
    • Kalley and I loved getting to LOVE on our friend Amanda, of Wilmingtonmom- We love you girl!
