  • "Navigating the Crossroad of Choosing Your Hard" with Brittany Wheeler

Everyday we face crossroads that require us to make a decision. Some could be a simple "whats for dinner?" decision. While others could be which partner do I choose? Or do I leave everything I have ever known? The crossroad of "choosing your hard" takes practice, falling flat on your face and making the wrong choice more than you make the right one for you. Listen along as I break down how to navigate that crossroad.

    • Choosing your hard is just as hard in the small decisions as in the big ones
    • Each choice is hard but you should be asking, "Which is going to get you closer to who and what you desire to be?"
    • Your decisions compounded over time will become a habit, be mindful
    • Know your blind spots, weak areas and maybe the people who are not supporting the positive changes
    • If you are at a cross road and the hard is a big decision, consult with someone you trust
    • Ask for guidance from a person who is WHERE YOU WANT TO BE
    • Don't ask for advice or wisdom if the individual has not themselves OVERCOME and arrived in the area you need help with
    • Sometimes you will allow yourself to get knocked down over and over again without realizing that making another choice would launch you forward
    • Choose the other hard if you keeping coming back to the same cross road
    • Give yourself GRACE and commit to choosing your hard until you become the person you desire to be

  • "Being a Living Testimony" with Alexis Perry

    About Episode
We are the sum of our choices. At 21, Alexis Perry found herself in jail and at a life changing cross road. Does she keep doing what she is doing and end up back in jail or worse? Or does she find help to become the better version of herself. On fire for God and leaving a legacy Alexis is here to tell her story of redemption and a relationship that saved her life.

    • Alexis was brought to Wilmington not by choice, but God
    • Growing up in church and been a Christian but has grown in her walk with Christ
    • Knowing God is being relational with him
    • Be aware that the people you love the most, may not be able to see what God is calling you to- its love disguised
    • At 21 going to jail was the life event that forced her to change her life
    • Allowing God to love you and fill the void that could be left by an earthy parent will provide healing
    • Let your "walk talk louder than your talk talks" by being better and doing better
    • Becoming a better version of yourself may not sit with others in your life, be ok with focusing on your goal and loving them regardless
    • Shut out the noise to focus and grow
    • Lift your foot and let God place it
    • There are many seasons where you need to decrease yourself and surrender to allow God to increase
    • Do the work, give it to God and lean into God
    • We have more in common than we do different

  • "New Year Sustainable You" with Brittany Wheeler

From 2014-2022 I spent New Years Days creating goals based on 24 hours of reflection. But each of these years all I achieved was burnout and disappointment. I only took a day to decide what goals “fit” for that year. Rather than “trying on” goals that would fit because I was willing to create sustainable change. After listening to a successful entrepreneur share how he starts off every New Year, I knew his tips could be applied to my life. Join me as I share HOW to achieve your goals through this sustainable process!

    • The New Year is a time for rejuvenation, refresh and rebirth
    • Most people don't make it into the 4th week of the new year because what they have created isn't sustainable
    • This process is applicable to any goal; health/wellness, spiritual, finances, relational
    • Using this process will help you create sustainability through the end of the year
    • Remove the “running out the gate” mentality
    • Allow yourself to live the first three weeks of January so you can decide if the goals you are considering will FIT and make sense
    • Reflecting in your business(es) not just for 2023 but 2022 as well- this will give you a big runway for growth
    • As a couple, reflect on what worked and what didn’t work regarding kids involvement, date nights, time with friends etc.
    • You cannot make a years worth of goals in one night, so be smart and take the time to reflect and assess
    • This is duplicatable and can be scaled down monthly
    • Take the time to do this, see this process as an investment not something that takes away your time

  • "A Dream Redirected" with Julian Smith

Join us as we talk about Julian's journey of dreaming, doing the work and listening to God's call. This conversation will inspire you and encourage you to do what it takes to live a fulfilling life. Sometimes the plan you have for yourself is not the ultimate plan, but learning how to grow through it and adapt leads you closer to who you are mean't to be.

Julian shares incredible insight on how he became a dreamer and what dreaming looks like now.

    Episode Notes
-God brought us together and for the perfect reason and time
-Julian was always gifted, and God given talents in sports and education
-His work ethic started at a young age
-The realization that his motives were not as God has desired. The spotlight he acquired was self focused.
-Now he is stewarding these talents, work ethic and convictions by teaching others
-Dreaming didn't naturally occur as a child, because as a child his parents created a "dream like" world
-Dreaming for himself came later, when his parents stopped supplying the dream
-The life Julian had as a child was not going to sustain him as a teen or an adult. He worked at a young age for what he desires.
-Went through several dreams of careers  until he landed on News Anchor
-Becoming a News Anchor was bringing him back to the spotlight and away from what God was calling him to
-He had always had a camera in his hand, but pushed back because it wasn't "the spotlight"
-God forced his hand, with his gifts behind the scenes and helping create it for others
-Couldn't imagine putting Julian and I together to create this podcast and make such an impact
-Julian's life and everything has to be a God story
-Never felt real pain until Julian's back surgery, he carried a "super hero" complex as a youth (10 injuries prior to back surgery)
-His injury is what saved him from going down an empty road
-Felt that pressure as a youth to "show up" and be present for your team
-"Showing Up" isn't always physical and there are many ways you can show up
-Julian was obedient in God's call to do something different to get something different. Took him 3x to listen!
-Realizing after college that building his career around himself wasn't lucrative nor fulfilling
-Julian's Mom was an incredible example of how to LOVE the Lord and lean into him and rely on his strength and NOT her own understanding
-The revelation of who you are mean't to be and become is in the intentional opportunities and moments God provides. For Julian it was through a camera!
-God gives you crazy ideas, but they are not for anybody else but you!
-Allowing himself to be stripped of who he was to become the Julian he was mean't to be
-Are you willing to deal with the loneliness on this journey of all you desire?
-Having no regrets means you believe in God's plan for you. If you do have regrets are you doubting Gods plan?
-God may be block your blessing to bless you bigger at a later time
-If you feel lost, or can't find the will to keep dreaming- do something different, try something new

The beach is Julian's best recommendation to spend time with others, discover yourself and find peace.  Chicken Salad Chick - Chicken Kailyn is his favorite sandwich. Located here in Wilmington.
