The founding duo try something a little different for this week's episode. Based on the length and pace of the novels, Allen reviews all three of Charlie Holmberg's 'The Paper Magician' books. Though imaginative, Holmberg's novels take several ques from other well known fantasy authors; however, with each chapter and through the depth of her characters, Holmberg crafts a fun and engaging experience. Through a series of involving questions, Danny and Allen try to elaborate on the bi-modal reviews as well as how similar Holmberg's universe was to one of her idols: Brandon Sanderson. Critique, laughs, and as always, sarcasm.

In a highly self-indulgent review Danny gets nostalgic for one of his favorite anime series and one that holds a strong place in his heart. Originally published in 1997 as a supplement for the Original Video Animation (OVA) 'Tenchi Muyo Ryo-Ohki' the 'True Tench Muyo' series was created for canonical purposes and it was Danny's mission to read the truth to what he thought was missing. But did it deliver on its promise? Was it like reading a script of the show? Was it far to late? How good was Seven Seas' translation? So many questions and a peek into Danny's history with anime.

The final novel of the psychotic romantic comedy series brought Danny to a somber stasis. His journey through the light novel psychosis was fraught with cliches and stereotypical light novel antics, but behind the trite redundancies was a canny element of societal analysis. Crafty in comedic delivery and astute in the degradation of human normalcy, Psycome ended in the only way it could. Danny describes the final plot and at the end organized his final thoughts on the characters with a harrowing goodbye to the first series completed on The Broken Shelf. Thank you Psycome!

After forty episodes Danny finally got around to reviewing the second installment of Benedict Jacka's "Alex Verus" series. This episode functioned as equal experiment and review. Danny changed up his style to a less spoiler filled presentation for a shorter review but he also wanted to gauge just how far he has come as a critic in forty episodes. Get ready for some self-reflection and a heavy dose of urban fantasy critique as Jacka took notes from one of Danny's favorite author's: Jim Butcher. Curses come in many forms!
