Allen, at the recommendation of his friend and legionaries Sam, starts a new trilogy in the fantasy genre. Book one of this thrilling multi-world wizarding adventure introduces a plethora of magical realms and spells while, of course, adding to the long list of magical pieces that take place in Jolly Ol' England. Allen goes through his likes and dislikes and explains why the story functions so well with a controlled, condensed cast, and kinetic dialogue. That said, there are some dangers lurking within the plot and with some of the characters. Does book one convince Allen to continue the series, or did it fail to deliver in its promised premise. Some thinks aren't so black and white!
Tune in every Tuesday for a new episode of The Broken Shelf.
