  • Drive Improved Employee Engagement with Giving Them The Right Tools!

I will share a simple employee engagement improvement tool in this podcast. It sounds like "no, duh," but I'm always amazed how companies "cheap" out on this one. Spend the money it takes and Give them The Right Tools To Do Their Job.

Tools can be defined as actual objects that help them complete their jobs. The materials that are needed at the right time to complete their tasks. Sometimes it's software or similar.

Nothing drives the morale down when you, as a manager or business owner, are making their jobs harder and just being stupid. Listen and learn, please.

The improvement in engagement and productivity can often be cost-justified.

Employee Engagement requires a lot of hard work for the employer. This is the easiest of all!

    Ask these questions

    • What do you think of when you think of materials and equipment?
    • What do you need to get your job done?
    • What are the essentials? What materials and equipment are essential to do your job well? How happy are you with the availability and functionality of each need?
    • Are there things that distract you from being positive, productive, or accurate in your work?
    • Does your work equipment (or lack thereof) lead to any stress? How can we help alleviate this stress?

  • Turn Your PROJECTS AND GOALS into Achievements!

Achieving great results requires more than great ideas, goals, and strategies. It requires creating precise action and project plans (collectively referred to as Action Plans from here on out) and managing them to achieve the desired results. These Action Plans are written plans that show what needs to be done to achieve a specific goal.

One thing that separates most managers is that they tend to get things done in a "seat of the pants" manner. In contrast, Results Driven Managers have the habit of creating and managing Action Plans with disciplined follow-through and timely adjustments that bring about excellent results.

These Action Plans need to be developed and managed by managers at all levels of an organization, whether they impact the entire organization or just a team, a department, or a division. As a manager, you may be assigned a specific Action Plan. In most cases, however, you will be involved in all the steps from creating to making Action Plans succeed for your areas of management responsibility. I refer to this Action Plan responsibility as the Responsible Party for an Action Plan. Each Action Plan will have tactics, which collectively need to bring about the Action Plan's success. You will be responsible for carrying out the tactics yourself or delegating this task to your direct reports (your Tactic Implementers) and managing them through it.

Take Our Online Course Creating and Managing Successful Action Plans

In this course, I will share the principles and techniques that Results Driven Managers use to create and manage their Action Plans to successful results. Let's now look at the following steps that bring about high-impact results for which you are responsible:

    • Step One: Creating Action Plans
    • Step Two: Action Plan Tactics
    • Step Three: Managing Action Plans to Success

  • How to Hire Great People for your Company and Leadership

Good hiring decisions are critical to the success of your organization. In reality, no one has a 100% batting average when hiring.

In this podcast, I share the Seven Steps to Hiring Great People for your company. The how-to manual effectively interviews and selects the right person for the right job.

Your business is only as good as your employees. Every employee represents a facet of your business to clients and the community from the front desk to the executive offices. Hiring the wrong person can cost you more than just money.

Managing the people in your company takes time, but dealing with a "poor performance" employee can take up to 70 percent more time than one with "good performance".

When you hire the right people, you can focus on the big picture - running your business - rather than worrying about smaller details.

Hiring takes time, effort, and money, but did you know hiring the right people can save you money?

Uninformed managers take a "go with your gut" mindset when choosing a candidate, but a wrong hire can find you scurrying to replace someone you hired on a "hunch". This equals spending additional money.

When it comes to wasted payroll and lost sales, you could be losing upwards of 25 percent of the annual salary for the role you're attempting to fill. Hiring the most qualified candidates means new employees are able to hit the ground running and begin making valuable contributions to the company.

No business is an island. Businesses thrive when teams work together toward a common task or goal. Strong team players will contribute to your company's culture, just as bringing in the wrong person will disrupt it. Additionally, replacing a bad hire shortly after they begin working with you can cause existing team members to feel unsettled, leading to lower productivity.

As a Results-Driven Manager, you cannot afford to make any hiring mistakes by taking shortcuts.

You must have a sustainable, successful process to build a successful team. Before interviewing, you must first develop a list of competencies, job requirements, and evaluation criteria.

Then, plan and time block the days and times for you and other peers involved in the interview process. Schedule interviews into dedicated times for first, second, and third-level interviews, as warranted. Create this schedule over a minimum time; three days is a target. Then, evaluate the candidates at the end of the interview period. This process will eliminate the loss of desirable candidates due to delays.

Avoid these hiring mistakes and follow the Results-Driven Hiring methods, and it will put the odds in your favor for successful hiring outcomes.

Want to Hire Great People? Let's Start Now!

Hiring the right person is essential. Your business is only as good as your employees. Every employee represents a facet of your business to clients and the community, from the front desk to the executive offices. Hiring the wrong person can cost you more than just money.

When you hire the right people, you can focus on running your business rather than worrying whether employees are getting the job done and done right the first time.

  • How To Manage UNDER PERFORMING SALES PEOPLE Like A Professional

Increased sales from your sales department will often require improving or upgrading your current underperforming salesperson. This podcast covers your mindset to be a successful sales manager and the best practices for dealing with underperformers.

Start Managing Underperforming Salespeople LIke a Pro

When you have an underperforming salesperson, the organization's sales opportunities and profits are lost. You need a strategy for what you need to do about improving the underperforming salesperson's results or terminating the salesperson.

Let's first talk about who can be improved and who cannot.

Think about putting your energy into only salespeople who have displayed the proper traits for success as a salesperson.

Always remember you cannot teach someone a trait. You either have a trait, or you don't. Let me further explain what I am describing as a trait.

The color of your eyes is a trait. No one can train you on changing your eyes' color.

What does that have to do with selling skills?

Find Out About Results Driven Sales Manager Training

You have certain personality traits in place once you become an adult. Some are mandatory to be an effective salesperson.

In my opinion, work Ethic and Tenacity are the most essential and critical.

Want to Find Out If They Have These Traits? Take a Free DISC Assessment and find out.

On the other hand, I can take the nicest, most outgoing, and most personable person who has a significant presence and maybe a strong ego and lacks a strong work ethic.

All the best training in the world does not allow them to succeed in sales.

A trait of successful sales is not being outgoing and highly personable. That helps, sure, but it is not mandatory. I have to have great tenacity and communication and the ability to connect with people, ask a lot of questions and listen, and then be willing to work hard and not be easily discouraged for them to be successful.

They have to be coachable and willing to learn and take feedback. If the high ego underperforming salesperson is not willing to make some changes and take coaching suggestions, they are doomed. The sales profession is full of them. And the same mistakes in hiring them to keep going. Just being friendly is not mandatory to be successful in sales.

This podcast will share the best practices for improving underperformers or moving them down the road, which is a WIn WIN. But getting to the win must be fast. Don't sit on underperformers. You're losing more than sales the longer they are not improving or moving off your team.
