Take Our Online Course on How To Deal With Difficult People

Caving into the destructive behaviors by sticking your head in the sand and hoping they will go away is a sure way to sabotage your leadership impact.

The objective is to address, deal with, and eliminate destructive behaviors that are roadblocks to the desired working dynamics that make organizations more successful.

Start Managing Performance Of Your Team Like a Pro

How you address negative patterns of behavior is the key. You need to avoid spur-of-the-moment responses that will often be ineffective and worsen the situation.

It is crucial to take immediate action. It is unproductive for you to deal with it slowly and patiently. However, if you have lived with these difficult people and are now ready to take action, do so swiftly. Don't allow them to behave in this manner any longer. The longer you take, the more profound the damage they are doing to you and your team.

In this podcast, you will learn the tools and techniques to develop the strategy you should use to be most effective when transforming the situation into something more constructive.

  • How to Deal with Difficult Bosses

Want to reduce stress and pain at work because your boss is difficult?

There will often be times when you'll have to deal with different types of difficult people. These people may be within your organization, such as employees, your peers, or your boss.

You must deal with these difficult people in a way that brings about the most significant impact on you and the areas you manage.

Start Dealing With Your Difficult Boss Using These Tools

In this podcast, I talk with Tony Penn of Results Driven Leadership, training in Psychology, and Executive Coach. He shares some unique insights.

You have a different challenge when it is the boss who is a problematic person. The wrong strategy for handling things with a difficult boss can negatively impact your career path.

Important: Don't discuss your feelings about these behaviors with anyone other than your boss.

    Use the SBI approach.

Accept the following realities of addressing your boss's behaviors with them:

    • Your boss has the last word.
    • Don't go to battle with your boss over the little
    • Don't draw a line in the sand that, in the future, you will wish you had not drawn.

Communicate the sensitive subject of a boss's behavior privately with the boss.

Let's now look at some of the different destructive behaviors by a boss and how you might handle these behavior situations.

  • The Guide to Results Driven Effective Meetings

Want to stop wasting time in meetings that accomplish nothing?

Have you ever sat through a meeting and said to yourself, "what a waste of time; I could be getting my work done." What may be worse is if people are sitting in YOUR meetings thinking that same thing.

Meetings are an absolute necessitforto running a successful organization.

Start Making Your Meetings Get Sh*t Done

While meetings can be a useful strategy and process for sharing work progress and connecting with others, excessive and poorly run meetings can significantly adversely affect productivity and employee motivation. Research has proved this over and over again.

In this Podcast, learn from 3 former executives how they conquered crappy meetings. You can apply these approaches yourself.

One of the habits routinely used by Results Driven Managers is making the meetings extremely effective, and people want to attend them. Meetings are vitally important – if done well. Meetings help people feel included, trusted, and that they are essential team members and allow them to contribute to the success of your team and company. Meetings and individual one-on-one conversations are the fuel that runs our companies.

    • Meetings are boring!
    • We're too busy putting out fires!
    • Nothing ever gets accomplished!
    • Nobody wants to come!
    • The last time we had one, someone stormed out!
    • They're too much work!

Take Our Course on Conducting Effective Meetings

In short, we hear more about bad meeting experiences than good ones. While everyone has sat through their share of bad meetings (and, if we're honest, we might even admit that we've led a few ones ourselves), we don't often hear about what makes a good meeting.

Most underperforming organizations have in common a lack of high-level communication between the boss and their direct reports. This is the result of not having regular meetings with everyone in attendance. Suppose weekly meetings are not happening now in your organization. In that case, it is time for you to start advocating for them to take place.

These meetings require a modest time investment of only a couple of hours a week and improve the alignment among you and your peers. It should be limited to your boss and those who report directly to the boss; all team members need to understand their roles clearly.

Put an End To Boring Meetings

  • Here Is A Quick Cure For UNDERPERFORMING SALES

During this podcast, I will share how The Lack of Inspiration is one of the most common and preventable reasons sales teams become dysfunctional and underperform.

I will share the critical mindset you must embrace to manage a sales team effectively and begin getting the results you want. Not the results you get. Yes, they and your results can improve dramatically, but making the essential changes is on your shoulders.

I call this the transformational triangle of change. You improve on You and the leadership best practices I share. The natural by-product is that your team will improve their mindset and attitude and the results you are looking for with their improvement.

It's magic and is what top-performing sales leaders do to achieve a high level of results.

Start Being a More Results Driven Sales Manager Starting Here

Most importantly and the biggest mistake I often find is a flawed sales leadership approach. You will find yourselves face-to-face with the reality that you cannot intimidate, analyze, or lecture a sales team into performing.

By the way. How's that been working for you?

To lead salespeople effectively, you must find ways to inspire and motivate them and keep their emotional balloons filled at the proper PSI.

Become a Sales Manager That Makes Their Numbers

This need for inspiration is critical when managing salespeople because, unlike most other employees, salespeople are faced almost daily with rejection by client/customer prospects plus get paid commission or for results and like no other employees in a company, face competition to get their job done successfully. They have it harder than many sales leaders are willing to account for. To maximize results, you must account for their daily challenges and adapt your leadership style to inspire them, not demotivate them.

If today you do not yet possess the ability to motivate your sales team to perform to the highest sales level for which they are capable, you can do so by learning and following the advice that I share in this podcast.

  • EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION Shortcuts - The Easy Way

In this podcast, I will share with you why Effective Communication from managers enables them to begin getting their employees to do what they should. To actually do what you tell them to do. To go do what you expected them to do. To do so, you must begin using the critical best practices I will share with you.

It's frustrating, isn't it? You define tasks you need your team to do, provide them with the resources they need, and send them on their way to get it done. You wait. You notice it's not getting done. You wait some more. It still isn't getting done. You call in your team members and inquire about the task. You get an ambiguous answer. You send the employees back out to perform the task. You wait even more. It still doesn't get done. What's going on here?

Here's the deal. Most managers utilize a flawed communication approach that creates this lack of getting stuff done. Unfortunately, I must inform you that it's you, not them, that is the problem. Don't believe me? Listen to this podcast and see if you are following all the steps I define for Results-Driven Communication.

The skill and knowledge I share should be a primary focus for managers of all organizations, regardless of industry and size.

Take Our Results Driven Communication Course

Communication is often the basis of any healthy relationship, including between employees and their managers. Gallup has found that consistent communication is connected to higher engagement, whether in person, by phone, or electronically.

Gallup also found that engagement is highest among employees who have some form (face to face, phone, or digital) of daily communication with their managers. Managers who use a combination of face-to-face, phone, and electronic communication are the most successful in engaging employees.

A good communicator will seek to provide consistent feedback to their staff, advising them on areas for improvement and giving praise when warranted.

Unfortunately, most managers tread water in communications that directly impact the organization's results. And even more challenging is that these managers have no idea that their communication skills are a challenge for them. Most highly rate themselves in the skill, yet their direct reports and results say otherwise.

These managers have plans but fail to make them happen – partly or solely due to inefficient communications. They are not in touch with their employees and, thus, miss out on employee suggestions and feedback that could be invaluable.

In contrast, highly effective managers have a habit of Results-Driven Communications. Making these habits part of your work DNA will help you transform your work life, work relationships, and work results to positively impact your organization.

  • Simple Tips For HOW TO COACH INSTEAD OF TRAIN

What is the difference between coaching and training and mentoring? In this podcast, I will share the difference and the how-tos of becoming a great coach to your team members.

Coaching in organization and leadership settings is an invaluable tool for developing people across various needs.

The benefits of coaching are many; 80% of people who receive coaching report increased self-confidence, and over 70% benefit from improved work performance, relationships, and more effective communication skills.

Want to Develop Your Management Skills?

Coaching provides a valuable space for personal development. Managers should not underestimate the impact of coaching on their people as it frequently creates a fundamental shift in their approach to their work.

The time you spend coaching employees of your organization will help them increase their positive impact on your business. Your coaching will assist these employees in performing better within the confines of your organizational objectives and, in turn, help your organization perform at its full potential.

It will help them move to a level they may not have been able to reach in the past. Using your coaching skills helps employees become more productive in various impact areas.

The more apparent areas include increased revenue, lowered costs, and improved organizational morale & culture. In addition, this coaching will bring about a micro-positive impact all the way down to employees' work habits (meeting deadlines, their quality of work, etc.).

Coaching employees can create lasting change and a positive impact on their lives. It also allows you to deepen relationships with your employees.
