  • E54 – What is Your Time Worth?
What is Your Time Worth? Time is Money!
In this episode we were again happy to have Jenny join in on the discussion around managing time and getting your worth. As we winded through the episode we hopped around the topic of time management, all the ways that agencies and consultants bill, and different ways to calculate your "hourly worth". In the end some things are easy to quantify but others like the time on Social Media (see Facebook Groups & Forums) and attending conferences (What is the Long Term Value of Networking (Events)) were great topics to also try and tackle.
Dave also dug into how and why even in-house people really should look to use time tracking solutions (and if you are a consultant or an agency you have NO reason not too).
Lastly Mat brings it home with - what is most important to you? When you go and calculate your own worth remember to think about your other passions, family, friends, clients, money, bosses and anything else that may be worth spending time on.

  • E53 – What Does Going Viral Mean (in 2018)?
How Do You Define Going Viral?
At one point there was the Digg Effect and more recently there was the Pinterest Effect. Over time the definition of "Going Viral" has changed but the guys dig into and break out how from one industry to another things are very different. There is of course a mention of Social Meowdia - which there should be!
Overall the guys really dig into some ways to think about "going viral" and how to calculate it for your business or project. Some of the things you should think about when trying to define what "viral" is for you:
Lead and sales goals - i.e. Business goals
    How big your market is?
How big is your current audience?
What is the goal of the content?
    How many links or domains?
What is your outreach and promotion plan?
What is your social media strategy?
What is the story you are telling?
    What is your budget?
The guys briefly talked about YouTube and just the huge amount of content uploaded every day/hour/minute. It really is a crazy stat if you think about it:
300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute!
Episode 53 Mentioned Personalities and Social Channels
During the show we mentioned a few Instagram and YouTube channels that have a high bar for going "viral" based on their audience. They also set the bar high and if you are comparing your 3,000 Twitter follower account to these, you will for sure be in trouble.
iJustine - 4.8 million YouTube subscribers
PewDiePie - 63.4 million YouTube subscribers
Selena Gomez - 138 million Instagram followers
Casey Neistat - 9.6 million YouTube subscribers

  • E52 – How to Ride the PR Wave
How to Take Advantage of a PR Wave
PR can come in many forms and the guys dig into some ways to take advantage of it in some manner. One big story and example that they dig into is "Kiss Guy" and how he got called up on stage and rocked it for Foo Fighters. He ended up getting tons of press and used it to create a YouTube channel and promote his own playing without being salesy. There are a number of things he did with his instant PR that you can learn from.
Best Place to Work or other awards you win like the Stevies you want to use it everywhere - ride that PR wave! From job listings to conversion pages use that logo and award. PR and awards can come in lots of forms. It can be "As seen on TV" or if you are voted by a local paper to be the best X. These are all PR waves that you can ride.
A great example of using awards and logos as we discussed is Verve Search. The image below was taken directly from their homepage (June 2018) and is a great example of using awards and PR long after it happens.
Later in the episode the guys touch on News Jacking again, we did an episode so if you need a refresher - go have a listen.
Note that in the video Mr. David Grohl does curse a bit, not a ton but should you decide to play this over speakers we wanted to warn you.
