  • EP 235 - We Got The Ghost Clap
Episode 235 - We Got The Ghost Clap: A Journey Through The Wan-iverse Pt 1.
We know that the title of this episode is a bit suggestive, and that’s because when you really think about it, being haunted by a ghost or a demon is a lot like having an std. You usually get it by doing something that seems fun at the time, but is ultimately a huge mistake. It takes the help of a professional, and a lot of prayer to make it go away. And if you spend more than an hour with Mike, he’ll tell you about the time that his dad managed to get rid of one simply by telling it to go away.
This week marks the return of our not-so-silent partner, Michael, and the historic third episode in a row for Vito Power. So we grabbed some Hell Or High Pomegranate from 21st Amendment Brewery, some Chasing Ghosts from Epic Brewing, dove crucifix-first into the James Wan-iverse, and got a pretty nasty case of the ghost clap. Cheers!!!

  • EP 234 - Silence Of The Lames
Episode 234 - Silence Of The Lames
Mike quietly told me this week that spending the past two weeks in silence has helped him to better understand the sound.... of a whisper. He’s been full of little existential whimsies like that since “the accident” (his words not mine). It’s truly obnoxious, and I’m realizing that a silent Mike might be even worse for my mental health than one who can speak, but I’ve got a few more days of silence to figure that out.
So this week, I called up the legendary Vito Power once again, grabbed some Silence of Light Imperial Stout from Modern Times Beer, and some Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Cider, and joined Mike in his last week of quiescence with a discussion of two silent films. Cheers!!

  • EP 233 - Vocal Range Against The Machine
Episode 233 - Vocal Range Against The Machine
You know what they say, “sometimes you do the laundry, and well, sometimes the laundry does you.” To be be perfectly honest, we don’t know who “they” are, and we don’t know why they say that. Outside of a few very specific situations, it doesn’t really seem to make sense. Unfortunately for us, however, one of those very specific situations just happened to arise this week, and an unlikely instance of man vs. machine left our weak, pathetic fearless leader, Mike, unable to talk.
So this week we called up our buddy, Vito Power, to fill in for the voiceless wonder, and equipped with a silo of Steel Reserve and a deuce-deuce of Cosmic Silence Imperial Stout from Modern Times, we made our way through two films that pretty much sum up Mike’s situation. A washing machine, and silence. Cheers!!!

  • EP 231 - We're Losing Our Patients
    Episode 231 - We're Losing Our Patients
We've all heard the saying, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" but what if the apple only exists in your head and the doctor doesn't want to stay away? Well, in that case no amount of therapy is going to help, so you might as well self medicate with some Transient Brewing's Lost In The Fog & Haze and join us as we diagnose a couple of movies and see if they are what the doctor ordered. Cheers!

    Episode 230 - Birth-Deja Vu
Hey everybody. James here, and it’s my birthday! What did I do? Well not much, actually. I sat at home, away from all of my friends and family, questioning everything about life, watching the world slowly descend into madness all around me. Come to think of it, that’s what I did for my birthday last year... and every day since then. Strange, it’s almost like I’m living the same day over and over again. Hm... I’m gonna go grab a beer.
This week, because the sharp reality of living the same day over and over is blunted by alcohol, and also because it’s my birthday, we grabbed some German Chocolate Cake Stout from Short Fuse Brewing Company and watched a couple movies about someone who can definitely relate. Cheers!!!

EP 229 - Throwback To The Future
Nostalgia is a pretty powerful thing. That mental connection to the days of old, is something that we hold so dear that we even have a term for the things that are meant to tap into that reminiscent feeling a joy, a throwback. Hell, we even have a day dedicated to it, Throwback Thursday. You know, that day when you share pictures from the past and think back fondly on Jnco jeans and ball chain necklaces, or building blanket forts and watching Saturday cartoons with your friends, or maybe even the time you got drunk and thanked a cute waitress for specifically not smelling like hot garbage. Well, they can’t all be top notch memories.
This week we celebrate the “Throwback” with a couple films that evoke that feeling of nostalgia. So grab a sixer Super Eight Super Gose from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and join us. Cheers!!

Well that's all fine and dandy until you befriend a pride of lions or a crazy old man who both just want to use you for dinner. Then things just get a little bit..weird. So before that happens grab yourself a sixer of Stone Brewing's Fear.Movie.Lions and numb yourself for your eventual slaughter. or just to get through this episode!

  • EP 227 - An Animatraumatic Experience
Episode 227 - An Animatraumatic Experience
As kids, most of us probably had the same idea of what would make for a total dream birthday. Your parents tell you that you're headed some place awful for the day, like that b***h Aunt Tina's house, so you spend the entire car ride moping. You were so caught up in your thoughts that you didn't even realize that you were in the parking lot Chuck E. Cheese until your parents said something. Also, you didn't realize it because you were 5, and 5 year olds are stupid. The rest of your day is a whirlwind of sugary drinks, pizza, games, and the piece de resistance, a five-piece animatronic band, that was definitely not creepy at all. Well, now that we're older, and we've been introduced to the horrors of AI-gone-bad, and machines revolting against humans, we realize just how traumatic those birthday parties must have been for our parents, who no doubt were sitting there the entire time thinking "What if this mouse and his friends decided enough was enough, and just started murdering everyone in sight?"
Luckily for us, as horror fans, some of the kids who used to attend those birthday parties, and grew up to realize how truly creepy they were, decided to pull back the fur, and reveal the true horrors that lie beneath those cute, cuddly faces. So grab a slice of bad pizza, a can of Everybody Wants Some!! Double IPA from Hoof Hearted Brewing, and join us. Cheers!!

  • EP 226 - Home Sweet Home
Episode 226 - Home Sweet Home
It's true, what they say. There really is no place like your own home, be it ever so humble. But what if you find yourself in a home that's not your own? What if the owners of the home are not exactly the most hospitable hosts? And what if the home itself isn't really ever so humble? We can answer all of those questions with the story of our last trip to our Aunt Tina's house. God, what a b***h. Oh, or we could grab a couple Silhouette Imperial Stouts from 2nd Shift Brewing, and talk about some movies that involve big houses, frightened guests, and much like our Aunt Tina, ungracious hosts, who you wouldn't mind tossing into a lit furnace. Grab a drink and join us. Cheers!!
