Episode 224 - Wearing Our Rubbers

It's a situation that a lot of young men are familiar with. You meet a nice girl, you connect on every level, you start dating, and before you know it, that special night arrives. She feels safe and comfortable in your arms, and you both know that it's the right moment.

She gives you a shy look and says, "Did you bring protection?".

"Yeah sure, I always have my Kandarian Dagger in my backpack. Can never be too safe, you know?"

"No, silly. I mean did you bring... a... a rubber?"

"Ohhhhh, I'm sorry. I'm not thinking straight. I guess I'm a little nervous. I'll be right back, ok?"

You excuse yourself, and quickly run to your bag to grab the goods. You slip into the bathroom and give yourself one last look in the mirror before pulling it on. When you enter the bedroom, the look on her face is one of shock, but that soon gives way to a look of love, and respect because she has never seen such a stunning Zoanoid replica costume in her life. That's when you slide into bed next to her, crack open a can of BatSquatch Hazy IPA from Rogue Ales, and begin your double feature of The Guyver and Psycho Goreman. Usually if the smell doesn’t give it away, the taste of your toothbrush will.

We know it feels a little weird knowing that you’re being watched. You might even feel a little dirty. That’s fine. Do you guys remember having the talk with your parents? The really awkward one about how, “you’re getting older now, and you’re going to start seeing some changes in your body”. You know, THAT talk. It’s great that they tried to prepare us and all, but there were some pretty glaring omissions from the information they gave us. They told us about the growing pains, body hair, and B.O. However, they failed to mention that our negative postpubescent feelings would actually manifest themselves as stress demons that could exit and enter our a** at will, to exact revenge on the people who have wronged us. And that thing about the teeth inside of girls hoo-hahs? We think we would remember the mentioning something like that.

Lucky for us, and our kids, we found two movies that will someday help us explain these changes in a healthy and informative way. So grab some of The Brown Note American Brown Ale from Against The Grain Brewery and join us for a lesson in gross anatomy. Cheers!!!

Would you rather spend 28 days trying to survive a zombie apocalypse, 30 days trying to survive constant attacks from ravenous vampires, or one day in the same room as us? It’s really a tough call. Two of the options involve your likely demise, that would no doubt happen in some excruciatingly painful way, but the third option involves having to spend a full day with us, and trust us when we say, nobody, not even our families enjoy that. Oh, and there’s a small possibility that you will 100% get crabs, so yeah.... tough call.

Anyway, with that in mind we grabbed some All Day IPA from Founders Brewing Co. and discussed the pros and cons of each scenario with a little inspiration from this weeks flicks. Cheers!!

There’s no denying the fact that Christmas feels different this year. Many of our most beloved yearly traditions have had to take a backseat to staying safe and healthy. If there is one thing we can count On though, it’s that Santa will still visit us on Christmas Eve. Yes, Jolly Old St. Nick, and his reindeer, going from house to house with toys for all of the good children. Santa, stopping for a quick cookie break, while the faint aroma of charred flesh hangs in the cool night air. Kris Kringle, his round, smiling face, dark with soot, except two clean tracks, leading down his cheeks from sullen, watery eyes, gleaming and insane in the pallid moonlight. The blood, my god the blood. So much blood..... Don’t you just love Christmas??? We do!

Episode 216 - Bad Brew: Ghostbusters: Answer The Call

We’re guessing you can all remember where you were four years ago when you saw the events that unfolded before our eyes. 2016 is a year that will live in infamy for years to come. We watched the news in stunned silence as we thought to ourselves, “how has our country come to this?” Now four years later, the embarrassment continues for some, while others have embraced, what they consider to be, a new movement. Regardless of which side of the metaphorical ‘aisle’ you sit on, there is no doubt that Ghostbusters: Answer The Call has divided us as a nation, and we feel it is our civic duty to once-and-for-all decide if this film deserves the hate that has been spewed at it for four long years.

So grab some Chasing Ghosts Double Dry-hopped Double-hazy IPA from Epic Brewing, and join us as we discuss, what is hands down, the most outrageous thing to happen to our country in the year 2016.
