From rising prices in produce, to dishonest business practices that could lead to your “vegan friendly” food containing animal products, we really feel for you. You know who has it even harder though? Cannibals. Between being shunned by society for taboo behavior, and not knowing what your food was getting up to before it became dinner, it’s a really tough lifestyle. Don’t even get us started on improper food labeling. Oh Henry!, Sara Lee, Jack Links, Butterfinger, BABY RUTH!!! False advertisement at its finest.

This week, we grabbed some Partula Snail Ale from Griffin Claw Brewing Company, and sank our teeth into a couple flicks that are all about satisfying your hunger. Cheers!!!

Episode 204 - They're All Going To Drink With You!

It’s The King’s birthday, and we’re celebrating in style. We pulled out all of the stops for Stephen’s party this year. We hired local celebrity, Johnny Smith, to come and, in his own words ,“read.. everybahdies.. fwah-chins”. We’ve got US Senate hopeful Gregory Stillson in the house. Such a gentlemen, and the kids just adore him. That’s right, everyone from the Sheriff of Castle Rock to your high school p.e. theacher will be in attendance. And, oh friends and neighbors, it’s sure to be a night you’ll never forget, because Carrie White is will he making a special presentation that is sure to burn down the house.

This week we grabbed some Death By King Cake White Porter from Oskar Blues Brewery, and celebrated the birth of The King with a double feature of The Dead Zone and Carrie. Cheers!!!

Boy meets girl. Boy shows girl his amazing plant/animal combinant DNA formula. Boy gets covered in his formula, bursts into flames, falls into a bog, and re-emerges as a hulking swamp monster, who’s as tough as crabgrass, but makes love like a goldenrod. It’s a story as old as time.

Oh, and of course you must vow to give of yourself eternally, and pledge your undying devotion to the tree goddess, the giver of life. Those details can all be worked out later. First, just try the Kool-aid... Mmmmm Strawberry Kiwi.

Working in the craft service industry is hard. With all the different diets out there it's a tall order to try and please everyone on a film set. Between the actors that will eat anything and those with specialty diets that only eat Vegan, Veggie, Keto, fresh blood, or even the flesh of the other crew members, it's a miracle that anything gets served at all! So grab a fresh cup of coffee (or a PBR Hard Coffee if it's that kind of set) and lets toast to the Crafty's! Cheers!

Episode 200 - Fears, Beers & 4 Year Cheers

Here we are. The two hundredth episode, and our four year anniversary. If you know us personally, you’d know that we’re not well known for our ability to fully commit ourselves to many of the hundreds of great ideas we have on a weekly basis, but this is the one that we have been able to pull off. Yeah, we know that what we decided to commit to is drinking beer and watching movies, and then drinking more beer and talking about those movies, but we still view it as a win.

This week we decided to celebrate our anniversary, and the triumphant return of J-Rog, by talking about some of our personal fears. Which was a bit difficult, since we fear nothing. So enjoy this nearly three hour episode of us silently thinking about what scares other people, then occasionally muttering “pff whatever”. Cheers!!!

Well, we've made it. This is officially our last episode in the 100's, our last episode in our TCM retrospective, and our last episode before we ritualistically sacrifice ourselves to the podcast gods. Oh wait.... I've just been informed that we are, in fact, not invited to the ritual sacrifice because we never got our ceremonial matching tattoos after episode 50. The good news is, we have another shot at it when we hit episode 400, so you guys get us for at least another 4 years.

However sometimes we get sick of documentaries about horror, and that’s when we turn to something that is completely different. Horror movies that are made to look and feel like documentaries. We know, it’s a pretty big departure from our normal viewing, but sometimes you just have to mix things up.

I mean maybe it's that some franchises just don't age well past a part one. Maybe that franchise is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Yeah. That's what I was talking about. This week we picked up a 12er of the Shiner Texas Heat Wave and broke down the longevity of our relatio.....of Leatherface's relationship with movie goers.

Episode 196 - Hardcore Dancing In The Grindhouse Theater

If you had a time machine, what year would you visit? Where would you go? What would you do? Would you go back and watch the moon landing? Maybe, check out Ancient Rome? Perhaps you would go back and watch the Beatles play at the height of Beatlemania. Not us though. We know we’re going. Back to the 1970’s, to the seedy, sleazy, probably sticky grindhouse theaters you might find in Time Square, on Hollywood Boulevard, and down Market Street, because we’re gross like that. Unfortunately, we don’t have a time machine, but we do have the next best thing. Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. Ok, maybe not the next best thing to a time machine, but for our purposes, sure.

This week we grabbed some Shiner Bock from Spoetzl Brewery, and took a trip back to 2007, where Tarantino and Rodriguez were waiting to whisk us away to the hay day of the Grindhouse. Cheers!
