Episode 195 - Maybe He's Born With It, Maybe It's Somebody Else's Face
Texas Chainsaw Massacre Retrospective Part 2
RBF. We all know what it looks like. We all know someone afflicted with it. We all know that it can cause people to form an unfair negative first impression of you. Yes, Resting Bitch Face is certainly no joke, and it is a growing problem among men and women alike. Some insensitive people will say that there is a simple cure, “Just smile more”, but personally we like the Leatherface method the best. If you suffer from RBF, simply find someone who doesn’t, cut their face off, and wear it. It’s just that easy.
This week, we grabbed some of The Perfect Disguise Double IPA from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, and jumped face-first into our second installment of our Texas Chainsaw Massacre Franchise Retrospective.

    Episode 194 - Cold Brew-tality
Things have been getting pretty toasty around here lately. Like 100° with 98% humidity toasty. We have a saying here in Michigan that goes, “I mean, you can try taking a cold shower, but you’re still gonna have swamp ass
in about 10 minutes.” Ok, so it’s not so much a saying as it is an observation on the effectiveness of attempted cooling techniques during a Michigan summer.
Alas, we continue in our search for something to help slow the boil. This week, we thought a cinematic escape to the icy tundra would help. So we grabbed some Bob Barley Cold Brew Coffee Stout, turned on the A/C, and took the polar bear plunge into two frigid films. Cheers!!

EP 193 - Love The Skin You're In:
A Texas Chainsaw Massacre Retrospective Part 1
The podcast which you are about to hear, is an account of the tragedy which befell a group of two "youths", in particular James Baird, and his inebriated friend, Michael. It is all the more tragic in that they were... sort of young. But, had they lived very, very sober lives, they could not have expected, nor would they have wished to drink as much of the foaming and sediment-filled beer as they were to drink that night. For them an idyllic summer night recording session became a soy sauce-flavored nightmare. The events of that night were to lead to the discovery of one of the most lazy liquor store owners in the annals of proper stock-rotation history, The Left Hand Chainsaw Ale Debacle.

  • EP 192 - Boarding School Blues
Episode 192 - Boarding School Blues
We’ve never personally experienced what it’s like to get sent to boarding school, but it seems like a pretty strange experience. Being sent away from your family at a young age to live with strangers, and worship the devil. Getting used to your new roommate, who is the daughter of a movie star, a somnambulist who dreams in heavy metal, and also can telepathically communicate with bugs. The frequent ritualistic slaughter of nuns and students, and what’s the deal with the razor blade wielding chimpanzees that just roam around the grounds. Yeah boarding school sounds like a trip, so we’re glad we were never sent to one. Although, we do think we would look absolutely dynamite in those plaid skirts.
This week we grabbed some Lovebug Passion Fruit Sour Ale from Chandeleur Brewing Company, and got downright academic with two boarding school flicks. Cheers!!

  • EP 191 - Drink-In & Drive-In
    Episode 191 - Drink-In and Drive-In
For most of us the drive-in theater is a symbol of a bygone era. We see them featured in old movies and tv shows. We hear our parents tell stories of going on drive-in dates in their classic cars. In fact, there are even conflicting reports on whether James was conceived in the back of a Chevy LUV truck at the drive-in, or in a garage during his sisters second birthday.
Not only is the drive-in theater an important fixture in the annals of Americana, but more importantly, it is the perfect place for people to get properly acquainted with horror. Experiencing a horror film in the open air, on a summer night, is an experience that is hard to top, so fortunately for us, some of these relics have been maintained over the years, and may even be making a bit of a comeback.
This week, we packed a cooler full of Beck’s Pilsner, hopped in the car, and spent a night at our local drive-in. Join us as we discuss the two new flicks we watched. Cheers!!

EP 190 - Kill Me Quigley: Actor Spotlight: Linnea Quigley
Chainsaws, Egyptian gods, hard-boiled detectives, motor oil drinking hooker cults, Dukey Flyswatter, razor blade apples, abandoned funeral parlors, young boys preoccupied with their own sister’s bodacious boobies, demons, lipstick tubes disappearing into nipples. What do all of these things have in common? That’s right, they’re all possible names for our new band. Coincidentally, they’re also just a few of the threads that make up the sleazy, blood-stained tapestry of Linnea Quigley’s film career.
This week, we grabbed some Elvis Juice Grapefruit IPA from Brewdog, and discussed a couple films featuring the famed scream queen. Cheers!

Episode 189 - Getting Railed After Midnight
With everything going the way it is right now, it’s no surprise that we’ve heard some people say that they’re thinking about catching the last train out of this place. That’s all well and good, and if you’re looking to get out of dodge, we totally understand. We just want to suggest maybe you hop on one of the earlier trains though. Like, you can still leave pretty late, but it’s maybe not a great idea to wait for the very last train. It can be kind of dangerous. We know you’ll most likely be fine, even if you do catch that last train, but there’s also a chance that a mute butcher with a nasty skin condition, and a large meat tenderizer could murder you, then prepare your carcass to be consumed by the subterranean humanoids who serve the Eldritch Abomination, and man we would really hate to see that happen to you.
This week we grabbed some Train Fight Russian Imperial Stout from Tapistry Brewing, and discussed a film that took us on a pretty unexpected ride. Cheers!!!

Episode 188 - Dinner Special At The Rainforest Cafe
Hey, what’s eating you, buddy? That’s a pretty normal question, that usually has a pretty normal answer. Not this week though, because it’s not so much about WHAT is eating us, but rather WHO is eating us. In the horror genre, that can have any number of fun answers. This week it’s the locals who have us on the menu, and they look hungry. They’re in for surprise though because we haven’t been showering much during quarantine, and we’re a bit gamey.
We’re sinking our teeth into a couple cannibal flicks, and enjoying some Meat & Potatoes American Stout from Lord Hobo Brewing. Cheers!!!

  • EP 187 - What A Richard! - Directors Spotlight: Richard Stanley
Episode 187 - What A Richard! - Directors Spotlight: Richard Stanley
Typically when you say that someone is an absolute Richard, it’s meant as an insult. Like, “Don’t be such a Richard”, or “why don’t you ingest a satchel of Richards”, but every once in awhile an absolute Richard comes around and changes the entire meaning. Such is the case with the director in this week’s spotlight, the enigmatic and eccentric Richard Stanley. From casting rockstars in his early films, and pretty much losing his mind and fleeing to live in the woods during a shoot, to his recent triumphant return to the directors chair, Stanley is a director to whom we confidently say “we hope you continue being an absolute Richard”
This week we grabbed some Abita Purple Haze, and discussed a Richard Stanley classic, as well as his most recent outing. Cheers!!!

  • EP 186 - Bad Brew: House Of The Dead
Episode 186 - Bad Brew: House Of The Dead
What can we say about this week’s movie pick? What can we say? No, seriously.... what can we say? We honestly can’t find the words. You’re about to listen to a two hour long episode of us staring at each other in stunned silence. Every once in awhile there may be a slight nervous giggle that devolves into a sob of anguish, or a sharp, frustration-filled exhalation, akin to the sound you’d make after receiving a sucker punch to the diaphragm from Uwe Boll. Other than that...crickets.
For this week’s Bad Brew, we took a second, and no doubt final, look at 2003’s House Of The Dead directed by Uwe Boll, and washed it down with 25oz crisp ounces of the only appropriate beer for the task, Natural Ice. Cheers!
