Episode 214 - Welcome To Pipers Pit

You’ve all heard the old folktale about the Pied Piper, right? Using his magic pan pipe he led the rats out of an infested city, only to be stiffed on the bill when he came to collect his fee. So using the same magic pipe, he led the children of the city away and they were never seen again. That’s pretty dark, if you ask us, so we think it’s time to lay that old folktale to rest, and get a new piper in here who will be a hero to us all. It just so happens that we found that Piper, and he goes by the name of Roddy. Only he’s not playing some sissy pan flute, and he’s not leading rats out of the city. No way. He’s wearing a sick pair of shades, carrying a shotgun, and bringing Hell to the rats, frogs, and consumerism-crazed aliens on their own turf.

This week we grabbed some Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale from Founders, and followed our new folk hero into the battle to save mankind. Cheers!!

Our grandpa always used this old adage about traveling in the desert. The one that goes “If the thirst doesn’t get you, the cannibals will. And if somehow you manage to avoid the cannibals, the genetically mutated, roid-raging, penis mouth, virus banshees will probably suck your brains out of your nose.” Haha. Grandpa Lance used to talk about the coolest stuff.

Since we already did a show about Wes Craven’s The Hills Have Eyes, this week we grabbed some Sibling Revelry Red Ale, and went back to the desert pick up where we left off, with our first “Rest-o-spective”. Cheers!

Episode 211 - Hangovers Are A Witch

We have pretty refined tastes here at The Buzzed Kill Podcast. We love classical music, or a night out at the ballet. Do we speak French? Oui Oui. However, we're also known to cut loose from time to time. Don't be surprised if you find us having a little too much wine every once in a while, and sure you might catch us crawling through weirdly lit rooms filled with bundles of unwound wire for no good reason. It's not even below us to occasionally summon the corporeal form of death itself and explode a bunch of naked people's heads. What can we say, we like to party.

Yes, we realize we just described the cover of every Bruce Springsteen album. What can we say, they don’t call him The Boss for nothing. Well, likewise in film, the true classics never go out of style. So this week, we grabbed a modern twist on a classic dessert, some Pumpkin Pie Milkshake IPA from Roak Brewing Company, and discussed a couple modern takes on classic Universal monster films. Episode 208 - Never Drink Alone

We had an old scout master who would always tell us to be prepared for anything. "Always keep your socks dry, your knives sharp, your canteen full, and most importantly... never drink alone", he would say to us. Of course, he died in a freak sleeping bag accident, so what did he know? That being said, we always remembered the words of our scout master, and to this day, we never drink unless we have a drinking buddy. Although, as we get older, we're starting to wonder if he was really that great of a scout master... or a scout master at all.

Anyway, this week, we grabbed our drinking buddy and some He Who Walks Among Monsters Imperial Stout from Timber Ales, and took a hike into the Womp Stomp woods for some of the best Friday The 13th fan films. Cheers!!

Episode 206 - One Hell Of A Production

“That’s the Devil’s music!!!”

We’re guessing a decent amount of you have had that fired at you by your parents, or a clergyman, or maybe your religious aunt who pretends to be more pious than the rest of the family, but who also definitely has a pack of Marlboro’s and a flask full of hooch in her purse at all times.

They were all wrong though, because they were probably referring to metal, or rap, or even the dreaded Rock & Rooooll! Oh heavens! They obviously had no idea that Lucifer is a connoisseur of........ the show tune.

This week we grabbed some Heaven Scent Wet-hopped IPA from Short’s Brewing, and grabbed two tickets to the real greatest show on Earth. The Devil’s Carnival. Cheers!!!
