The Captain's Log

Episode 125. What kind of content were you expecting for our first episode of the bright new year 2021? Was it us reading the IMDB page for the Green Lantern movie? Because that's what we get up to. We also recap our holidays and talk about our shiny new tech upgrades, superhero ice cream flavors, a science fiction grandma, pop culture franchises that have entirely escaped us, and Boba Fett's historic appearance in a 1978 county fair parade. We also wonder about movies stopping to give you a pop quiz and if you fail the pop quiz, you're forced to start the movie over, as many times as it takes.

Episode 122. After Kyle updates us on Gundam news and Melissa praises The Queen's Gambit, it's time for part two of our Rotten Tomatoes movie predictions. Back in early February 2020, a lifetime ago, we predicted the critics' scores for 22 movies that were supposed to come out between then and now. Only 10 of them were released, but that's enough for us to declare a winner! We read the scores for this year's few precious movies and there are some truly shocking reveals. We then revisit our predictions for the movies that were moved to next year, and make new predictions for more 2021 movies. Join us again the first week of December 2021 for a look back on the year, and predictions for the cinema of 2022!

Episode 121. We're both 30 now! Time to talk about adult things, like cartoons and too many cookies. We have comic book news, a cutting-edge cheesecake, a very long battle in a very long book series, and the chill in the November air brings "Wendy's season." Inspired by Star Wars, we ask what other pop culture franchises need to have their own cheesy holiday specials?
