The podcast takes a crack at Mamoru Hosoda's critically acclaimed sci-Fi drama, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Most of our issues with this film probably stem from the obvious fact that we aren't the target demographic. Two men watching a teenager using her powers of time travel to solve first world teenager problems regrettably wasn't a huge source of entertainment. Nevertheless we still celebrate and recognize the skill and craftsmanship that went into creating this movie.

The Casual Anime Podcast hosts a round table discussion where we attempt to wrap up all the loose ends from Trigger/A-1's collab anime, Darling in the FranXX. Ian from @retroanime makes his long awaited return for this 1 hour dissection/roast of the most anticipated show of Winter 2018.

Darling in the FranXX is rapidly approaching its conclusion, but the show seems fine with replacing a nondescript organisation with an extraterrestrial nondescript organisation. Recorded in an early morning low energi session, appropriate enthusiasm was probably lacking as we discussed the events of ep. 20.

A rogue AI takes over the internet in Mamoru Hosoda's Summer Wars. The podcast try and fail to keep an interesting dialog going, but ultimately come up short in regards to family values and the dangers of AI.

On our 4th episode covering Hunter x Hunter we discuss Greed Island, a diabolical "videogame" for hunters, made primarily to develop Gon's Nen. One would think that as a father Ging would have a moral obligation to raise his son, but with this game he probably thinks he's sidestepped that responsibility. All in all, it does make for a lighter toned playful arc in preparation for the grimmer, grittier chapters ahead.
