While Ginny Tonic and Charlie were down in Memphis, they took time out to look for local craft beers and learned just how great they have it in Cincinnati. That said, they came back with two local favorites, Lazy Magnolia Brewing’s Southern Pecan Nut Brown Ale and Ghost River Brewing’s Golden Ale. Listen as they discuss Memphis beer culture, sample a bottle each of these beers and share tales from the road.

It's the Charlie Tonic "Magic Mystery Trip" Year 1 as Charlie hits the highway with Ginny Tonic taking her to an undisclosed location within the US. As you can guess from the episode title, it was Memphis. Ride along for a "road show" episode as Ginny and Charlie share audio from the trip, tell a ton of stories, visit a very amazing bar and share what has been described as the very first song of rock and roll. This week on Bottoms Up we take a closer look at a single barrel bourbon named after a living legend. Elmer T. Lee. Named after Master Distiller Emeritus Elmer T. Lee, this 90 proof bourbon put out by the Buffalo Trace Distillery is a balanced, rich bourbon good for sipping or in a cocktail. And use it in a cocktail we did, as Ginny gives her muddler a workout and makes a Blackberry Bourbon Fizz.  This one is guaranteed to make you thirsty.

This week Ginny and Charlie enjoy a night of great beer, an unexpected Killer’s Concert, and meet up with friends at a Gatsby-worthy house for a few drinks. And that was just Thursday. MadTree Brewing has been selling beer for less than 18 months and they have managed to achieve both of these things. This week Ginny and Charlie sit down with the three owners of MadTree to talk beer, business, and how to win over investors. You won’t want to miss it!

This week Ginny and Charlie combine the domestic and the foreign to make a summer cocktail that is sure to please. First we taste and discuss St. Germain, a French elderflower liqueur that also happens to be one of the most beautiful and romantic bottles we’ve seen. And on top of all that, it tastes great and proves this is one bottle you need to have on your bar shelf. The cocktail that Ginny creates for the show using St. Germain, dubbed the “Elder Whimsy” by Charlie, is made with a strawberry infused vodka that Ginny made a few weeks ago. The result was a lovely summertime drink that would be perfect for Mother’s Day. Tune in as we taste, mix, and try this wonderful concoction.

This week we’re joined by special guest Holden Fury (of Hellapalooza fame) for an extended drinks segment. During that "Bottoms Up", Ginny Tonic unveils her creations which will be featured at this upcoming show. Also, Charlie celebrates his inner fanboy as he discusses why he likes the books and shows of Anthony Bourdain. All this plus a few songs to end things on a decidedly underworldly note. Yes, this time the deadly sins have the Charlie Tonic Hour to thank and have never tasted so good!

Ginny Tonic received an invite she couldn’t turn down. Chipotle Mexican Grill (a regular favorite stop for both she and Charlie when grabbing food on the quick) invited her to a private tasting as the company reached out to the media inviting them to try their new hand-crafted margaritas made with fresh ingredients and quality tequila (Patron), rather than the mix-in ingredients the chain used before. Craft cocktails at a fast food restaurant? Ginny samples a few margaritas, gathers some audio with a company rep (and a few local food bloggers) and returns to discuss her experience with Charlie for this week’s episode!

Ginny Tonic and Charlie are back from the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) and they're loaded up with comic topics to discuss. A couple of those even make it onto the show this week!

Upholding their C2E2 tradition for the second consecutive year, they select three creators to interview during the show and share those conversations. Also this week Ginny and Charlie discuss how to ask for money and cover the nature and sustainability of Kickstarter. Next, they feature a couple beers in the Bottoms Up segment that come direct from the show and include a twist they didn't see coming. They end (after almost forgetting to record the close) a little tipsy with music made by the man who inspired Charlie to podcast!
