José Medeles is seasoned composer, drummer, author, owner of Revival Drum Shop and most recently, brand manager for the legendary and exquisitely revived Slingerland Drum Company.

José shares his journey from working drummer/shop owner to his new position celebrating and advocating for his favorite drum company.  He tells us why he initially resisted the position, what pushed him to except it and why he wouldn’t hire himself if the tables were turned. The two drummers discuss the importance of sensibility in their craft, which drummers best express that for them and share their personal Slingerland stories. José teases his upcoming release with the great Marc Ribot, how that experience changed him forever and shares a story from his mentor, Stephen Hodges.
