On July 23, 2007, the Petit family home in Cheshire, Connecticut, became the scene of a brutal home invasion that left three of the four family members dead. The perpetrators, Linda (Steven) Hayes and Joshua Komisarjevsky, had meticulously planned the crime after spotting Jennifer and Michaela at a local grocery store. This horrific event, which included assault, extortion, and arson, shocked the nation with its sheer brutality.
