  • The Lock-In - Parker Talbot
This week, Parker Talbot is locked in and out-shilling the hosts!
David and Dara kick things off without the man some call 'TonkaaaaP' as they discuss Gamble Online and Paul Seaton's excellent recent piece about poker player/embezzler Dennis Blieden. The pair then talk about David Peters' dominating performance at the US Poker Open.
There is a lengthy conversation on Phil Nagy's indecent comments towards Twitch streamer 'WeePro83' and the aftermath of that incident which has seen a repentant Nagy plead for forgiveness in public.
Guest of honour Parker then joins the fray to weigh in on the upcoming Hellmuth/Negreanu High Stakes Heads-up Duel. The nature of streaks, both positive and negative are discussed.
On the week that the WSOP announce their live 2021 schedule, all three men consider what, if any part, they might play in the action. Topically, Dara delivers his now famous strategy nugget on live poker adjustments, before the three conclude matters with multiple shameless attempts to shill for their partners and sponsors.

  • The Lock-In - Maria Konnikova
This week we are locked in and blurting out wrong names with Maria Konnikova.
Maria brings her wealth of psychological insights to the table for a discussion on ‘Get Rich Quick’ schemes, short-term thinking, negative experiences at the poker tables, con artistry, control and poker players being their own bosses.
We also talk about Anna Khait’s alleged participation in a plot to spy on FBI agents and Alex O’Brien’s BBC article 'How a $10k poker win changed how I think’.
Fittingly, Dara’s strategy nugget has a psychology bent as it is a neat trick to help players who take their beats badly.
The show ends by us previewing Maria’s upcoming paperback release of ‘The Biggest Bluff’ which goes on sale June 8th!

  • The Chip Race - Season 15 Episode 1 - Rainer Kempe Josh Heinzl Anton Wigg Alex O'Brien
David and Dara are back from hiatus with a great show, starring Super Highroller Bowl champion Rainer Kempe. They are also joined by toy shop mogul turned heads up poker pro Josh Heinzl. Science writer Alex O’Brien stops by to discuss her BBC article ‘How a $10k poker win changed how I think’. For strategy, the lads welcome EPT champ Anton Wigg. Plus, Ian will have all the news.

  • The Lock-In - Isaac Haxton
This week, poker legend Isaac Haxton is locked in and working out the chances of a player losing 13 heads-ups in a row.
Ike joins David and Dara for a wide-ranging conversation encompassing everything from scams to vaccines to prop bets.
The chat begins with the scamming allegation made by Dan Colman last week before moving to Hellmuth’s ‘hilarious’ victory over Daniel Negreanu which makes it a staggering 13 consecutive losses for ‘The Kid Poker’.
There is discussion of the vaccine rollouts in the US, Europe and in the rest of the world and its implication for poker and specifically the scheduled WSOP. Then there's a conversation on Bitcoin mining and its energy implications.
The lads take a look at the motion being put forward by Pokernews for their upcoming debate, namely 'Do Ambassadors Have Moral Responsibility When Representing Unregulated Sites'. There is some talk and banter on the proposed Jason Koon sprinting prop bet.
The episode rounds out with Dara's strategy nugget on check-raising backdoors and why you might be doing it too frequently!

  • The Lock-In - Rob Campbell
This week WSOP POY Rob Campbell is locked in and making Dara and David laugh out loud as the stand-up comic turned mixed game Aussie pro regaled them with his funny and sometimes not so funny tales.
The meandering conversation occasionally gets on track to discuss Patrick Leonard’s superb bit of sportsmanship when he prompted Pokerstars to double-check their SCOOP Leaderboard standings. This story actually develops in real time as David gets an update and a direct quote from Pads while the show is recording. Rob is the perfect person to interpret this bizarre situation from every angle as the man who won the WSOP POY after it was similarly discovered that the points had been calculated incorrectly.
The chat then switches to another man of the moment, Irish Twitch star Fintan Hand who took down his second SCOOP title. The lads discuss Fintan’s rise up the echelons of the game while Rob tells us about how he ‘chat-pro’ trolled Fintan while he was playing the final table.
There is discussion on ‘Series-Fatigue’ as we come to the end of a grueling period for online poker while Rob talks about the opportunity for introspection and learning in lockdown. He also chats about ‘The Podker Podcast’.
The show concludes with lots of the banter as the trio joke about Rob’s upcoming boxing match, lots of wisdom from Dara and his strategy nugget and lots of blatant advertising as David plugs the upcoming €250 buy-in monthly game on Unibet Poker called ‘The SuperMoon’.

  • The Lock-In - Andrew Brokos
This week, Andrew Brokos is locked in and lashing out at fellow Game theory book author Michael Acevedo (you hate to see it!)
It's a jam-packed show this week as David, Dara and Andrew rattle through a whole host of topical subjects.
They kick off with a chat about the Irish Poker Open Online and the broader subject of live brands taking themselves to the virtual felt this past year. The conversation then shifts to the recent feuds between high profile Training Sites and their owners/would-be content creators.
Patrick Leonard's interesting staking arbitration is discussed as the lads look at the spot from every angle. This is followed by a look back on the effects of Black Friday as we approach its 10th anniversary.
Mike Postle's lawsuit surrender is briefly mentioned with the obligatory fuck yous before the lads switch to the WSOP's big announcement of a live Autumn series in the Rio.
Dara's strategy nugget is on 3-betting ranges and Andrew weighs in with some excellent follow-ups. Proceedings end with David plugging the upcoming 100th Chip Race episode and the special (money and prizes added) €100 PKO tournament being planned for March 25th on Unibet Poker to celebrate.

  • The Lock-In - Vanessa Kade
This week, Vanessa Kade is locked in and outlasting 69,876 opponents on her way to a life-changing $1.5 million score.
We discuss Vanessa’s rollercoaster few months, culminating in an extraordinary $1.5 Million result. We also talk about her recent signing for ACR and the responsibilities of a poker ambassador.
Vanessa describes the changes that she made to her lifestyle in the last few months. Dara wonders if this past year has changed human habits for good. David talks about the latest live poker event cancellations.
The conversation then switches to solvers and how Dara feels like the great thing about them is how they have made opinions irrelevant. Vanessa breaks down in detail how she uses PIO and how she has incorporated that type of study into her game. Dara puts a key hand from Vanessa’s final table through Hold’em Resources Calculator.
The trio end proceedings by questioning Vanessa’s choices of celebratory drinks and Vanessa confesses that during the interview she ordered a McMuffin and it is waiting outside her front door. ?
