It's story time with Chris! Today I'm telling you about the life events that got me to where I am today as in how I am able to fill anywhere from 10-30 with just voicing my inner monologue. One of those things was a string of very, very bad dates. How did that help me with podcasting? You'll just have to listen and find out.
Summer is full of fun and vacations and, often, hours-long roadtrips. We probably do half our traveling by car and we do it without giving our kids screens to pass the time. Crazy, huh? And in this episode, I'm telling you why I do it this way and just how I do it, all my tips and tricks. So if you're heading out on a trip soon, give this a listen, and maybe you'll be inspired as to how to make your road trip a screen-free success.
I know a lot of people have feelings about Twitter. Some people don't like the owner, some people don't like the politics surrounding it, everyone has their reasons. My reason is different. Mine has nothing to do with Elon and everything to do with a guy named...we'll call him "Steve." Steve was addicted to Twitter. The rest of the story is in the podcast so give it a listen and then join me over on the new, not-Twitter Twitter: Threads.
Tomorrow is Canada Day and, because I am an American who lives in Canada, I decided to give Canada some space on my virtual territory. Today, I'm sharing three fun facts that you may or may not know about Canada (some of these were news to me) and I'm also debunking three common (or maybe not-so-common) myths about Canada. Eh?
Let me know if these were new or old news to you and Happy Canada Day, all!
We have our first podcast guest! No, it's not Lin-Manuel Miranda (wouldn't that be crazy?) BUT she is an accomplished advocate, artist, and mom behind the @pleasesavedamian campaign. And she's my little sister.
When we're home with littles all day, by the time evening comes, we are craving adult conversation. So Brittany and I decided to share our conversation with you and we also decided to show how two people can have very different opinions, talk about it without expecting to convince the other person to change and still be friends after. Enter Lin-Manuel Miranda. One of us loves him, the other doesn't. Have a listen and see who you agree with and see if your opinion changes at all over the course of the episode.
It's story time with Chris today!
**As the name of the episode suggests, the topic of our story today centers around a certain area of the female body. I am a believer in creating clean content so I promise there is no profanity or crude language BUT I do use correct anatomical terms for certain body parts. So with that in mind, listen to this in whatever way feels most comfortable to you. **
I will tell you right now that the makings of this story were anything but comfortable for me...
This is not the first time I have shared this story, though this is the first time I've shared it on a platform like this. Please know, it is ok to laugh. I told that to the nurses at the triage desk right off the bat because, really, it's a ridiculous story for which I have no one to blame but myself. And maybe the wax esthetician who double dipped her sticks all those years ago and drove me to doing my own brazillian bikini waxes...
Confused? Intrigued? Listen to the episode and it will all make sense.
**Let me start off by saying that I am NOT a therapist or a life coach and if you feel like you are struggling with anxiety or depression or any aspect of mental health, PLEASE reach out to a professional for help. Therapy is wonderful, everyone should go to therapy whether they think they need it or not. And medication can be so helpful when used appropriately. If your liver was sick, would you take medicine to help it? Your brain is just another organ of the body. **
You are loved, you are valued and you MATTER.
I've struggled with anxiety for a while, some days it's better than other days, and I see a therapist and, again, therapy is AWESOME. Today I'm sharing three tools that I use when I feel my anxiety coming in hot. Think of this episode as a friend opening up to you and sharing what works for them and take and leave what you want from our conversation today. Love you.
Here's my "about me," friends! Think of it as my speed dating shpiel except for mom friends instead of love interests. If you can relate with anything I say or if you're a little intrigued or entertained, give my podcast a listen and come hang out with me.
