COVID-19, the coronavirus disease, continues to dominate not just the headlines but the way of life all over the world. Countries like Spain are not allowing citizens to leave their homes. Here in America, states have ordered closures of business along with other almost unprecedented restrictions.As of March 20, there are 15,219 cases and 201 deaths in the U.S. (CDC). These numbers may not seem proportionate with the strong government actions being taken but many health professionals are predicting case numbers and deaths will rise in the coming weeks and months if people aren’t kept apart.This weekend on The Christian Worldview, Soeren Kern, geopolitical analyst with the Gatestone Institute, will join us to discuss the cracks that this coronavirus has exposed worldwide. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), a new coronavirus respiratory disease that was first detected in China called COVID-2019 (i.e. Coronavirus Disease 2019) has quickly altered life worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) has just upgraded the disease as a global pandemic.While the CDC reports that there have been 1,629 total case in the U.S. with 41 deaths, a relatively small number considering our population of over 300 million people, the threat of COVID-19 has led to an enormous downturn of the stock market, cancellations of large gatherings (sporting events, Disneyland, conferences, etc.), shortages of basic goods (toilet paper, hand sanitizer), runs on food, suspensions of schools and workplaces, and major disruption to the travel industry, amongst many other things...
