Critch talked about the balance between the CITY dynamic attack and defending grit that have gotten the team two away wins in a row. He called out the breakout performance for Brendan McSorley, the ever-stellar Roman Burki, and Kyle Hiebert who has continued to grind in training to be ready for the team when needed. Critch also talked about how the team prepped to host the dominant LAFC team with attacking duo Son Heung-min and Denis Bouanga.

During the Y98 halftime show, we aired an interview between Spanish station KXOK’s Santiago Beltran and Maritza Martinez, Associate Director of Stadium Grounds for St. Louis CITY SC. Maritza talked about her diverse background, how she got into turf management as a college student, and the different sports she’s worked in. She also described her honor in being named one of the GMA 35 Under 35 award winners, why she advocates for women and people of color in her field, and how she encourages potential young talent to take a chance.

During the Y98 pregame show, Jen Siess talked with CITY’s utility player, Conrad Wallem, ahead of the team’s away match against the San Jose Earthquakes. Wallem talked about how good the win and clean sheet felt in Montreal, the goal he’s been waiting to score, and how the team managed key moments. Though he appreciates his versatility, Wallem also talked about feeling better in his play with more continuity at right back, how he balances risk, and hopes to possibly stay in St. Louis.

During the Y98 halftime show, Jen Siess visited with Jay Delsing, St. Louis native Professional Golfer and Broadcaster. Jay talked about being part of the CITY pregame festivities and his work with the Stifel Charity Classic going on out at Norwood Country club over the weekend. He also talked about the importance of sports in charity work, his broadcasting career, the mental side of the game, and the growth of other types of golf such as “footgolf”.

During the Y98 pregame show, Jen Siess talked with CITY Centerback, Henry Kessler, ahead of the team’s home match hosting FC Dallas. Kessler talked about getting through the season with injury, reaching game fitness, and how repeated match minutes will help him find his rhythm. Thoughtful Kess also shared his pregame visualization routine, his thought process for pairing with different Centerbacks, and the need for the team to finish the season strong with not just points, but WINS!
