He also addressed his own accountability for the first LAFC goal along with the team’s continued focus on better game management, working with the midfielders for better synergy on the pitch, and how the team needs to tighten up the ability to hold onto a result for a full 90 minutes.

During the Y98 pregame show, Dale Schilly caught up with CITY Head Coach, Yoann Damet, ahead of the team’s match hosting Eastern Conference team, the New England Revolution. Damet talked about the positives coming out of the loss at LAFC such as the solid 70 minutes of team play, mindset, plan execution, identity, and progress. He also spoke more on working with the team to walk that fine line between playing and overplaying, along with helping center mids, Chris Durkin and Daniel Edelman, to work smarter instead of harder and find more synergy. Finally, Damet noted what the team is looking to exploit in the pursuit of the first CITY win of the season against the Revs coming to town, hot off their own recent first win.

During the Y98 halftime show, Jen Siess visited with Kat and Ryan from "Soccer Without Borders" - an organization whose mission is to use soccer as a vehicle for positive change, providing underserved youth with a toolkit to overcome obstacles to growth, inclusion, an personal success. Both SWB and St. Louis CITY SC share the belief that soccer is more than just a game, partnering on the CITY Futures program to "switch the pitch" with the youth they serve in The Beautiful Game.

During the Y98 pregame show, Jen Siess visited with CITY Forward, Cedric Teuchert, ahead of the team’s away match back to the West Coast to face LAFC. Cedi talked about his long journey back from July 2025 injury, the difference in training in terms of intensity/expectations from the coaching staff, linking up again with Marcel Hartel, and his unique style in playing the right 10. His goals for the season are simple - stay healthy and score goals.

During the Y98 halftime show, Jen Siess visited in-booth with Ricky Proehl, former NFL Wide Receiver and Head Coach for the St. Louis Battlehawks. The former wide receiver talked about that storied catch in January 2000 that propelled the St. Louis Rams to the Superbowl. The conversation then turned toward the Battlehawks, currently in training camp and preparing for the UFL season start at the end of March. Proehl talked about figuring out this season's team with a core group of returning players, building a team culture, adjusting his coaching to benefit each player, and his gratitude for being back in St. Louis which is the home of so many great memories for him and his family.

Miggy talked about his journey back to first team play from his move to the USL in January 2024, along with a lot of growing up along the way not only in his play on the pitch, but also in life living on his own for the first time. Miggy shared his story of the call to the first team this season for the San Diego away game, and also talked about his continued growth, not only physically, but also mentally as a young pro looking to mature in his play.

Damet talked about learning from the vastly different styles of CITY's first two opponents of the season and their continued focus on building a play style, model, and culture. He also addressed the training focus on collective team behavior when breaking an opponent's press. He noted the team's next steps of putting the two performances together with plan execution and final third play. Finally, Damet talked about prepping for the well-established club in the Seattle Sounders in the team's quest for their first win of the 2026 MLS season.

During the Y98 halftime show, Jen Siess and KXOK Broadcaster, Santiago Beltran, visited with Ally Mackay, CITY's new Assistant Sporting Director. Ally spoke about his journey in soccer to sporting leadership through the various roles he's had in the game. He also talked about his decision to come to St. Louis, a place he's connected well with through The Beautiful Game. He also filled us in on the assistance he'll provide to Sporting Director, Corey Wray, in their endeavor to build the club for success in the long-term.
