This morning we welcome Grin N' Grin founder and ringleader Bruce Bartley to discuss this months big GNG event at Mama Hamils in Madison. GNG is a monthly political lunch event where all of central Mississippi's biggest political players get together and discuss all the biggest happenings locally, statewide & nationally!!
Speaking of Mississippi's biggest political players we welcome North Mississippi Senator Chad McMahan to discuss a new bill he's authored (SB 2532) which mandates all public schools only teach there are 2 genders (male & female) in Mississippi. We'll also discuss how Tupelo has become so successful and what cities like Jackson could learn from them.
-Fred and I also discuss his "Chemical Castration" bill that gives judges the ability to add an extra layer of punishment for predators that sexually assault children 13 years of age or younger.
- State Rep. Fred Shanks joins us for the better part of hour #2 to discuss the uproar a new bill he dropped caused over the weekend when Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones went to X to voice his displeasure with the potential of the Governor being able to remove sheriff's who do not enforce the bill. It's a bill dealing with immigration, collecting fee's & housing illegal immigrants in county jails.

Retired Army National Guard Blackhawk Pilot & personal friend Justin Thompson joins me in studio to discuss and breakdown the recent tragedy in Washington DC where a Military Blackhawk helicopter collided mid-air with a commercial jet that left 67 people dead. We address all of the internet conspiracy theories from a respectful perspective, take calls and answer as many online questions and text as time allowed. I personally think this whole hour was one of the most informative hours of radio I've ever done in the 915 shows I've done since being on WYAB.

4- I take the last segment of the show and give my 2 cents on Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba showing up at 4:59pm with no time to spare Friday 01/31/25 to qualify for re-election dressed like he was dressed by a single mom in attempt to make him look like the father that left him (it's a meme, iykyk). He actually looks like a wannabe rapper or dope boy who's been out all night.
The Final Countdown, Chokwe Lumumba has till 5:00pm today to get his campaign finance reports in and get qualified for re-election, Shaun and I both believe he will not follow through and get run for re-election. We take a deep dive for the entire first hour into this topic and all the reason why we think it creates more risk than reward to run again!
Here's a quick rundown of what's for lunch today at some of the great WYAB & Clay Edwards Show advertisers
Thalia Mara Hall will not reopen as scheduled today by the city of Jackson, the reasons why will make your brain hurt from the stupidity. I'm joined by the one and only Kingfish to discuss this and several other rapid fire topics to close out the show.
