I sat down with host of Mid-days W/ Gerard Gibert on Super Talk FM and one of the most successful businessmen in the history of Mississippi for a longform, unfiltered conversation about a wide range of topics. This was hands down one of the most interesting and informative conversations I've had in the nearly 5 years since I started doing this.
-How / if Jackson, Mississippi can be saved
-How he built and sold a $100 Million dollar company (Venture Technologies) right here in central Mississippi
-The importance of economic development here in Mississippi
-Will he run for governor in 2025? -The battle between the so-called Republican establishment Vs. MAGA
-We also hit several other topics along the way in this over hour and a half conversation!!
After discussing the fact that Fenians Irish Pub is closing this leads to us breaking down the possible reasons they're shutting down (other than just Jackson crime). Somehow or another this ended with us discussing how ugly 1970's - mid 80's architecture was.
Below is the official statement from the Fenians Pub staff about the closure of the iconic Jackson, Mississippi Irish pub.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of Fenian’s Pub after nearly 28 years of serving this incredible community. Since opening our doors, we have been honored to be a place where friends gathered, memories were made, and the spirit of Jackson was celebrated. We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported us over the years. Your loyalty, laughter, and friendship have meant the world to us.
Though this chapter is coming to an end, the memories we’ve shared will last a lifetime. Thank you for being a part of the Fenian’s Pub family. Our last day will be Tuesday, September 10, so come out and join us one more time for some hearty food, stout libations, and just a few more salutations!
With sincere appreciation, The Fenian’s Pub Team
Lindsey Beckham joins the show as my new Monday co-host after years of being a guest on topics such as parental rights and more. We stepped straight on a landmine this morning discussing school choice in Mississippi, it's clearly a very polarizing topic with people on both sides making great points. We got a ton of passionate calls from people on both sides of the debate too!!
Darrell Arnold has been a friend of mine for 30+ years, a former roommate and business partner throughout the years. Darrell has been a successful conservative radio host and social media pundit for several years now, he's recently started a video podcast and asked me to be on his 2nd episode ever. We chopped it up for nearly 2 hours discussing everything from politics, the culture war and why rock & movie stars decided to alienate half the country by going full libtard and telling us they don't want our support. We jumped down plenty of random rabbit holes along the way and had a hell of a conversation!! I hope you all enjoy listening as much as I did participating.
Description from Darrell's podcast listing:
