Is "Character" the New SAT?

Yale, Bowdoin and Pomona announced that they'll be scrutinizing their applications for admission, presumably to weed out photoshoppers and bribers from their applicant pool.

In this episode, I share thoughts about the "new" importance of character, and what it means for college applications, student-athletes, kids with learning disabilities needing extra time, and more.

See www.LockwoodInnerCircle.com for advice on how to multiply odds of admission to your "Dream College" and qualify for a boatload of fat, juicy scholarships.

College advisor Andy Lockwood discusses two things that go bump in the night and cause you to suffer a horrible, ghastly fate:  horrible advice from guidance counselors and the reps at  the high school “College Financial Aid Night” – and an English teacher helping a student with her essay.

College Advisor and best-selling author Andy Lockwood discusses the pros and cons of having social media accounts when applying to college, and the ways to proactively create an online brand that helps you get into your Dream School even if your grades and SAT scores are lower than other students in your high school who got rejected.

This concludes this awkward message.

In financial aid, you’re either quick or you’re dead.

OK, not really, I was trying to make a boring topic more interesting.

However, the truth is that there is a TON of flat-out WRONG “information” about how the financial aid process really works, who can qualify, the income cut-off, the look-back period, you name it.

Today, I’m covering one of the biggest sources of confusion: deadlines. And when to file, generally.

Do you have to file October 1?

If you rush in your financial aid applications, will you get more money?

I just set the record straight in this video, originally posted on my Facebook page.
