The Con Artists Podcast

The Con Artists have their final discussion of the Spring! It's Spring 2019: Koto Killed my Grandpa

Su watched way too many shows! Brendan learns how to make friends with his whole middle school class, while Scott learns how to communicate with people solely though haiku. Dan's punching all the baddies (only once) and winning everything, except his mixed martial arts tournament.

The Shows covered in this Podcast are: Carol and Tuesday, Hitori Bocci ... Seikatsu, Attack on Titan: S3 Pt2, Senryuu Girl, Hachigatsu no Cinderalla Nine, One Punch Man S2, Fairy Gone, Rising of the Shield Hero, The Helpful Fox Senko-san, Kono Oto Tomare, Fruits Basket 2019 - S1

The Con Artists have their final discussion of the Winter! It's Winter 2019: Judgement Day

Scott has overloaded his schedule with anime this season, but not everything's a winner.  Su judges him harshly for his poor choices.  Meanwhile, Brendan spins a good story about sentient leaf girls and Dan gets an anime housecat roommate to match his real one.  Then it's Su's turn to be judged about the Fair Market Price of Smiles... until it turns out Scott watched that too.

Come judge us yourselves or see if there's anything here to be salvaged (spoilers: there totally is).

The Shows covered in this Podcast are: That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime, Dororo, Shinkegki no Bahamut: Manaria Friends, The Rising of the Shield Hero, Kemurikusa, Mob Psycho 100 II, My Roommate is a Cat, Magical Girl Spec Ops Asuka, The Cost of Smiles, and Endro!

The Con Artists wrap up the fall season of 2018.

We got bunny girls, grimdark goblin slaying, and an honest to goodness puppet show to review.  It was a good season, in other words.  Well, for most of us - Su found SSSS.Gridman to be a near-total disaster, and minces no words in taking it down. Either way, it'll be a good listen, so join us!

The Shows covered in this Podcast are: Goblin Slayer!, Thunderbolt Fantasy (S2), Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl-sempai, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Skull-face Bookseller Honda-san, and SSSS.Gridman

The Con Artists discuss the end of the cour for Summer 2018.

The season was a little light on quality shows, so the Con Artists make up for it with some in-depth coverage of those that were worth it... and a few that weren't.

Join us on the Stage of Fate and prepare to be entertained!

The Shows covered in this Podcast are: Hanebado!, Cells at Work, Attack on Titan (S3), My Hero Academia (S3), Harukana Receive (partial), We Rent Tsukumogami (partial), and Revue Starlight.

Sex Mechs (Darling in the FranXX)

Su and Scott need to let you in on a dark secret...

Darling in the FranXX was very bad.  Don't believe us, or just want to know why we feel this way?  Come have a listen as we discuss all the disappointment that came from this Trigger + A1 Pictures collaboration.

The Con Artists have their discussion about the Spring 2018 Cour! It's the End of Cour Discussion: Anime Sandwich

We watched a lot of shows this season... though Brendan might've been right to skip out.  Our anime sandwich has some pretty good bread, but everything in between leaves something to be desired.

The shows covered in this podcast are: Record of Grancrest War, Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, Card Captor Sakura Clear Card, Caligula, Megalobox, Lost Song, Darling in the FranXX, Last Period, and Full Metal Panic: Invisible Victory

The Con Artists have their discussion about the Winter 2018 Cour! It's the End of Cour Discussion: I Can't Slip This Cupcake Into My Purse

Everyone gathers around to discuss the shows we followed in the Winter cour. There's so much variety. Brendan might be tripping balls, as Su laments that CCS isn't coming together. Scott's had his fill of Classicaloids, and Dan finds a J-Pop song he ACTUALLY LIKES. All this and more!

The Shows covered in this Podcast are: Violet Evergarden, Darling in the FranXX, March Comes in Like a Lion S2, Card Captor Sakura Clear Card, Pop Team Epic, Hakume & Mikochi, Classicaloids S2, Record of Grancrest Senki, Yuru Camp.

Say Yes to the Wizard Dress (Ancient Magus' Bride - Part 2)

The second and final Con Artist discussion of the first season of The Ancient Magus' Bride.

There was lots to talk about in the second half of the show, as Chise and Elias' relationship changed, dark and powerful magics abounded, and the confrontation with Cartaphilus concluded.

There was one thing everyone agreed on, though - we'd totally watch The Ancient Magus' Friend, a spinoff about Lindel and his dragons.

Lightning in a Bottle (Final Fantasy XIII)

Su and Scott sit down to have a discussion about the extremely controversial Final Fantasy XIII.  The truth is...we liked it for the most part!  I know...you are shocked....

We also were eternally poor and thought that the Eidolons were useless, so there's balance, don't worry.

GhibliFest (Ghibli Movies)

The Con Artists may butt heads when it comes to opinions on anime, but there's one thing they can all agree on: Ghibli movies are wonderful!

The group comes together to discuss some of their favorite Ghibli movie moments, some things that make Ghibli movies special.  We also talk about why Hayao Miyazaki is a fascinating man.
