The Con Artists Podcast

The Con Artists close out the Fall! It's Summer 2017 End of Cour Part II: Please Sir...Just a few More Polygons...

We're back for Part II because we watched just way too many shows. Especially Su...mostly Su, actually. Damn those sequels.

Su wants you to watch March Comes in Like a Lion. Seriously..try this one if you like Slice of Life storytelling that has gravitas. Dan enjoys multiple shows this season, which is mind boggling. One of these shows is the ultimate Dark Horse. Listen to find out what that Dark Horse is! Hint: It's Wake Up Girls S2.

The Con Artists close out the Fall! It's Summer 2017 End of Cour Part I: Shoulda Gotten In On That Bitcoin!

The gang sits down to discuss Fall 2017. We all watched way too many shows this season.  Su is the biggest offender here. In fact, there's so many, I don't even have enough space to write witty things about everyone. Come have a listen!

For those of you who missed our podcasts being drinking games, drink everytime Su says "Fascinating". Heavens...she seems to have lost her thesaurus.

The Shows covered in this Podcast are: Welcome to the Ballroom, Girl's Last Tour, Just Because!, Kino's Journey 2017, Shokugeki no Soma S3, Recovery of an MMO Junkie

Say Yes to the Wizard Dress (Ancient Magus' Bride - Part 1)

The Con Artists have a very special episode to cover the trending show of 2017, Ancient Magus' Bride (first half)!

Scott is running this hype train, while Su and Dan debate jumping off the caboose.  Meanwhile, Brendan ponders how the existence of the Wandering Jew could derail it.

Think you can handle it?  Come have a listen - what's the matter?  Are you not into trains!?

The Con Artists have their mid-season fall discussion! It's Fall 2017 Ep 1: Dan the Professional Wet Blanket

There's a lot of good stuff this season, and Dan, Scott, and Brendan discuss the highlights, including at least one pleasant surprise that wasn't even on the radar.

Then Scott reveals that not everything is great in Animeville - there's still Classicaloid out there!

The Shows covered in this Podcast are the first half of the fall season (~Ep 6 for each): Shoukoku no Altair, Houseki no Kuni, Mahoutsukai no Yome, Net-juu no Susume, Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou, Kino's Journey, and Classicaloid Season 2

The Con Artists have their bonus discussion for the Summer! It's Summer 2017 Ep 7: Hold On...I'm Swooning.

It's only Su and Scott this time. Those other two losers decided they didn't want to watch anything. So lame!

Scott's shows are a dead split between fairly interesting and downright awful (though awful mostly wins, but what else is new with Scott).

Su finishes strong with Re: Creators and tunes you all in to the Dark Horse show you probably didn't watch (but totally should have), CHEEEEER FRUITS ARE GOOOO!

The Shows (Eps) covered in this Podcast are: Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul, Princess Principal, KanColle The Movie, Isekai wa Smartphone, Mesekinin Galaxy Tylor, Re-Creators, Action Heroine Cheer Fruits

The Con Artists have their final discussion of the Summer! It's Summer 2017 Ep 6: Pimp My Mech

Scott is pimpin' Mechs in Knights and Magic so he can impress the ladies...or at least decide the future of Mecha warfare. While's he thinks he's cool, Brendan is the real Romance Master with Tsurezure Children. Bet you couldn't guess that!

Dan's officially lost it all on Vatican Miracle Examiner...but really...he sealed his own fate here. At least Su is dancing through life with Welcome to the Ballroom. It's the swankiest place in town.

Most of all let's end the Summer with something important: WHY THE HECK AREN'T YOU WATCHING SYMPHOGEAR RIGHT NOW!?

The Shows (Eps) covered in this Podcast are: Tsurezure Children, A Centaur's Life (12) Welcome to the Ballroom (12-13), Knight's and Magic (13), Shoukoku no Altair (11-12), Symphogear (11-13)

The Con Artists discuss more anime of the Summer! It's Summer 2017 Ep 5: Part 2: Load Chekhov's Gun

Dan 's in it for the long haul with Altair, even though he seems to be growing wary of it. There's just too much going on and too many Turkish terms. Scott knows the ending to Knights and Magic but apparently the ride there is a fun one. Although who doesn't have fun when giant levitating ships are involved?

Su finally figures out what she wants out of Welcome to the Ballroom. Here's to hoping the show can deliver on its characters and emotional content to match its well done Sports Show aesthetic.

The Shows (Eps) covered in this Podcast are: Welcome to the Ballroom (10-11), Knight's and Magic (11-12), Shoukoku no Altair (9-10)

The Con Artists discuss more anime of the Summer! It's Summer 2017 Ep 5: Part 1: Technicolor Jesus

Dan comes to the podcast high, like you do. The miracles of the Vatican never cease apparently. Scott's chillin' with Harpies and stuffing his face in another world as Su explores new heights of crazy in Symphogear. At least she's watching the show of the Season. What are those other losers even doing?

Brendan closes us out with heavy Centaur plot. Wow show...did you just go there?! He also can't name his favorite Tsuzudere Children couple. For shame!

The Shows (Eps) covered in this Podcast are: Vatican Miracle Examinar (9-11), A Centaur's Life (8-11), Isekai no Shokudou (11-12), Syphogear S4 (8-10), Tsuzudere Children (Ep 9 sort of)

The Con Artists discuss more anime of the Summer! It's Summer 2017 Ep 3: Of Course It's Love

This podcast was recorded the week of 8/20 so I swear the Solar Eclipse reference made sense at the time!

Dan has quit Princess Principal, but honestly, are we at all surprised?  He's just mad he can't throw a car with gravity powers.  At least he'll always have non-Turkish Pasha guy!  Scott's livin up the earnest life with mecha building and staring at delicious food.  What a life he leads....

Su desperatly wants you all to watch Symphogear.  Seriously..do it!  It's so ridiculous.  She also wants you to watch Welcome to the Ballroom but isn't...100% convinced it knows what it's doing. Also, Su totally realized that the guy's name is Gaju, not Garu.  Don't flame too hard!

The Shows (Eps) covered in this Podcast are: Vatican Miracle Examinar (4-6), Princess Principal (5), Welcome to the Ballroom (6-7), Knight's and Magic (6-8), Shoukoku no Altair (5), Isekai no Shokudou (6-8), Syphogear S4 (4-5)
