Everyone, and we mean absolutely everyone, at some point in their life struggles with worry. Whether it is because of sickness, financial troubles, relationship difficulties, or just the uncertainty that the future may hold, it is so easy to surrender our minds and dwell upon the unpleasant outcomes that are beyond our control. And some of us really do struggle with it constantly. We go from one worried moment to the next, scared, upset, and anxious, and it negatively impacts almost every aspect of our lives. But here’s the question that’s really worth asking: Is worry a sin? And if it is a sin, how do we go about repenting from our worry, and as a necessary part of that repentance, to what should we turn to replace it?
The unexpected overturning of Roe v Wade and Planned Parenthood v Casey by the Supreme Court is rightly being celebrated as a political and moral victory. But it is important to understand what this decision actually achieves. In terms of immediate effect, this decision does little to change the net number of abortions performed in the United States, but this is not a fundamentally bad thing. By acknowledging that the Constitution does not provide a fundamental right to abortion and returning the decision to the people, a new type of discourse is now possible - one where the actual underlying moral issues that cause abortion can be discussed and addressed and where new laws that were previously considered impossible can now be considered.
As it's "Pride Month" we discuss whether pride, whether it is always sin, and how there's a direct connection between pride and homosexuality.
After another school shooting we try to tackle some of the big issues related to school shootings today. Will the solutions proposed in Congress actually work? Is it the duty of police to stop dangerous killers? What are the root causes of these tragedies?
Episcopalian, Presbyterian, Congregation. Different church polities that produce different consequences in the churches that use them. Different system of church government constrain sins in different ways. In this episode, we discuss the three and what sins can flourish most easily under each.
In episode we discuss the Biblical use of the rod and why God commanded parents to use it, and why modern child psychologists oppose it.
The scripture says that Christ preached the gospel of the kingdom. We discuss what He meant by that, and whether it matches the gospel preached in modern churches.
Transgenderism is on the rise in America. How should Christians respond?.
Whether you call them habits or rituals, we organize our lives around a repeated series of actions that we repeat on a regular basis. We go through the same steps every morning when we wake up and every night before we go to bed. We come to the table in a particular way, maybe we talk, maybe we eat in silence. Church and worship are similar, as are family devotions. Once our routines are established, our habits and rituals neatly in place, we rarely, if ever, reconsider them. But these are things that make up our lives.
