In-person meetups and networking events are so important to your business--whether you love doing them or not. (I’m in the “not” category, but I still do them and I still see value in them.)
Because they’re so important, I asked Tiffany English, founder of Women in Business Connect, to the podcast to talk about how to make those valuable connections--even when you can’t meet in person. She has so much valuable insight from both the organizer and speaker perspective AND from the attendee perspective.
In this episode, Tiffany talks about how she pivoted from in-person to virtual events, how to get the most out of a virtual event, how to follow up with people you meet after the events, what you can do to be more visible online, and why flexibility in virtual events is so important.

No, I’m Not a Freelancer (blog post)
As business owners, we often put off taking care of ourselves. We're busy building our businesses and taking care of our families. But unless we're taking care of ourselves too, it can easily all fall apart.
This week's episode is a bit of a personal one. I've been working with Allison Jordan, a functional medicine specialist and digestive health expert, for about two months now and I wanted to share why I hired her and what my results have looked like. Because I have to say, she's changed my life and the way I look at my health.
In this episode, Allison and I talk about the importance of taking care of yourself, how the healthy things you're doing right now might be what's making you feel so crappy and what you can do right now to feel better right away.
It's a bit of an unconventional business podcast discussion, but I believe that your health and wellness can mean all the difference in your success.
About Allison Jordan
Allison Jordan is the owner and founder of Better Belly Therapies, a successful gut health clinic based in Ann Arbor, MI. Allison exceeds the highest levels of training as a certified Craniosacral Therapist and combines functional medicine coaching and visceral manipulation to help men and women with digestive dysfunction decrease food restrictions and increase their energy and quality of life. Visit her website and follow her on Instagram and Facebook.

Happy One Year Anniversary to the Stories in Small Business podcast! I'm thrilled to be celebrating one year with you today.
As you'll hear from this episode, a podcast was not at all in my plans for my business. I'm a writer, after all. Who am I to publish a podcast? Well, if I've learned anything from my time as a business owner, I AM someone--and I have things to say.
This week on the podcast, I'm sharing why I started the podcast (you listeners have a lot to do with that!), what I've learned from podcasting, how it's impacted my business, and what you can expect moving forward.
Podcasting is truly my happy place these days. Where is yours?
P.S. If you've been finding the information in the podcast valuable, please do me a favor and give it a rating and review. It would mean so much to me!

We all have stories we tell ourselves in business and often those stories are holding us back from truly niching down and reaching our potential in business. This week on the podcast, I'm talking to someone who has helped me overcome my own inner mean girl and grow more than I thought possible.
Natalie Eckdahl is a business strategist and coach for growth-minded business owners. I appreciate her ability to help women look deep within themselves and their businesses to turn their mindset issues around.
If niching down is something you've struggled with, you need to listen in today. And if you're hearing your own inner mean girl tell you things like "you're a loser" and "you can't be a good business owner and a good mom" and "you're not worth what you're asking" then let Natalie's words help you work through that.

You need to make money in your business. That's what it's all about, right? Yes, but if you want to make those sales, you need to attract the right audience to you. That means creating content that's about your audience and what they need, rather than making your content about you and your products or services.
I know that's tough to do sometimes, but it's a necessity.
In today's episode of the Stories in Small Business podcast, I'm sharing how to do that--and why you should. It's a short and sweet episode but you'll get the value you need and the resource that will help you get closer to the right content for your people.
