The Cooler Guild

Reign’s inability to find the back of the net when they needed it most resulted in a 1-0 loss to Orlando Pride. Despite the result against the defending NWSL Champs, we get into the Reign giving themselves a chance versus an elite team and why we still believe there is a lot to be excited about moving forward.

We finish the episode with talking about NWSL results, the unfortunate situation regarding international players in the league, as well as Phallon Tullis-Joyce’s chances at getting the USWNT starting goalkeeper spot.

It's our very first offseason episode, and the Reign have given us some exciting things to talk about. The club has made a few roster moves, including picking up the league's leading goal scorer, Lynn Williams, as the Reign look to turn around an offensive side that left a lot to be desired this past season.

We wrap up the episode with a few other newsworthy happenings around the league and in women's soccer.

In this bonus episode of The Cooler Guild, we do a quick wrap up of the Reign's season, including giving out the first ever Cooler Player of the Season award.

With the NWSL Championship officially set between the Orlando Pride and the Washington Spirit, we have a discussion about the playoffs that led to the matchup and who we think might have the edge. With the 1 and 2 seed represented in the Final, it's gonna be a can't-miss battle for the most coveted trophy in the league.

The Reign finished out the 2024 season with a 3-2 loss away at Orlando. Jordyn Huitema finally broke the curse and scored her first NWSL goal since June 9th. Maddie Mercado played super sub and tallied her first ever NWSL regular season goal, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Shield winners. We reflect on the game as well as the season at large for the Reign, and look ahead to a hopefully brighter future for the team next season.

Later in the episode we cover other results from around the league over the weekend and make our picks for the first round playoff matches.
