  • Top 10 Horror Comedies
It's Halloween time! And that means it's time to force Wayne out of his comfort zone to talk about horror movies. Well, horror comedies, to be more specific, though Paul feels he deserves praise for even getting that much out of his scaredy-cat co-host.

So it's a topic near and dear to Pauls' heart, which may explain why, for the first time in the history of the show, THIS is the Episode in which Paul throws down his head phones at one of Wayne's calls and storms out of the studio!

What could Wayne have done to earn such ire? How many straight comedies does he have on his list? And, for that matter, how many low-budget indies no-one has ever heard of does Paul have on his?

  • Gemini Man review
Will Smith is back in his latest action-thriller, Gemini Man. Director Ang Lee has opted for high frame rates and 3D+ - perhaps in an effort to mask the de-aging technology which is present through much of this film - but seems to have forgotten the need for a decent script and captivating characters when making this one. Which prompts Wayne and Paul to answer the almost-serious question: Is technological advancement in cinema more important than the basics of movie making?

  • BONUS: Top 10 Horror Films of the 2010s (with Sam from MRITQs)
It's Halloween, it's the horror season, and Wayne is not so mysteriously MIA. So to honour the season AND to set up the last part of the year on the show, Paul has recruited Sam from the Movie Reviews in 20 Q's Podcast to countdown the Top 10 Horror Films of the 2010s!
Sam is a bona fide horror film fan so this is a largely good-natured and agreeable discussion about the very best films that the horror genre has provided to us fans over this last decade. In other words, Paul is pleased to not have to question everything his co-host says, whilst also defending the genre as a whole :P
Keep an eye out for the best of other genres coming to the main show later in the year and in the meantime please check out Sam and his fantastic show at https://mritqs.podbean.com/
Chur! (Is that how you Kiwis use it?)

  • Top 10 Last 10
The Top 10 Last 10 format is back for the final time in 2019 as the guys mini-review 20 films they've recently seen but have yet to speak about on the podcast, ranking them from worst to best. The intention then is to act as a bit of a guide for you fine listeners, except Wayne decides to eschew all logic in his ranking system, putting films higher that he scored lower, causing Paul considerable ire in the process...
But what is the film Wayne ranked so highly that Paul cannot get his head around? And has Paul finally found some films to cheer about in 2019? Or does it remain the worst year for film releases (in his humble opinion) since the podcast began?
Find the answers to all these questions and more as The Countdown continues ...

  • Joker review
The world has gone mad for Todd Phillips' Joker, starring the Unpronouncable Phoenix, but are DC laughing all the way to the Academy Awards? The boys offer their take on the biggest October release in history, and fair to say, they're not as impressed as the vast majority of critics and fans seem to have been.
Has the lack of lycra and capes overshadowed their appreciation, or are they viewing this one without the clown-paint goggles on?

  • Top 10 Movies That Taught Us Most About Dating
This week the guys reveal more about themselves than they planned to when drafting this week's topic, but Wayne got his way, and so they're talking the movies that taught them most about dating!

As you can imagine, this one acts as an insight into the lads' souls, so prepare yourselves to equal parts cringe and laugh at their stupidity as many disastrous dates are outlined, while rules for how to survive in the complicated world of relationships are trialed (and mostly rejected).

Does Crazy Stupid Love make another list? Is it possible to shoehorn Basic Instinct into this topic? And who once dumped someone because they hated Children of Men? Learn the answers to all these questions and more, as The Countdown continues ...

  • Ad Astra review
It's been a while, but one of the guys thinks Ad Astra is more like Ad ASStra, and the other is into Brad Pitt so hard, he wishes he could go on his own metaphorical journey to the pit of his Bradness.

So, yeah, this is a sci-fi film starring Brad Pitt travelling through our galaxy to prevent a catastrophe, and the co-writer and director (James Gray) thinks it's the most realistic space film ever made. When you get done laughing at that, join us for this review, as The Countdown continues ...

  • Top 10 PG-13 Films
This week's show is a bit of an experiment as the guys try and do an Ep with minimal cussing and absolutely no references to parts of the human anatomy doing things to other parts of the human anatomy. In other words, it's meant to be a PG-13 Episode as the boys countdown their top 10 PG-13 films.
Now, of course, there is more swearing than allowed in a PG-13 film, but many might be surprised by the final tally raised for charity, as every curse word outside the realms of acceptable PG-13 fare costs $1 straight into the Swear Jar.
Will Wayne have any money left by the Ep? How far does Paul go to bait Wayne along? And does The Soundboard have to throw into the Swear Jar?

  • Rambo: Last Blood review
37 years after Sylvester Stallone debuted the character of John Rambo as a traumatised veteran being unjustly pursued by the local law, the character returns for his final outing, having decimated half of the Vietnamese, Russian and Burmese armies in the interim. So has Sly learned anything? Has Rambo evolved with the times?

The answers are right here, good people, as the boys take on the challenge of determining whether Stallone is as successful with the return this iconic character as he was with Rocky Balboa in the Creed films. Is it a case of lighting strikes twice?

  • Top 10 Movie Characters We'd Most Like to Have Drinks With
This week it's a bit of a fantasy topic as Paul and Wayne get all cleaned up for a night out on the town with the ten movie characters they'd most like to have drinks with. All of film history is open to the guys, making it a tough ask to narrow down the field, but somehow they manage it - and there's even one cross-up on their lists!
The choices may be fairly predictable from the guys as they start out, but Wayne saves his best (read: most outlandish) choices for last, prompting considerable consternation (read: profanity laced disagreement) from Paul, and thus ensuring more of the banter you're familiar with, as The Countdown continues ...
