  • Anna & The Dead Don't Die reviews
This week the guys check out two films considered poor enough that they were either pulled entirely from an Australian cinematic release or delayed said release by more than three months after appearing in American theatres.

First up, it's The Dead Don't Die, and shocker(!), Wayne refused to see it. Though not because it was a zombie film, but rather because it's directed by Jim Jarmusch. Paul bravely takes on the challenge by himself. Was he pleased to have made such a sacrifice? Or does Wayne get the last laugh?

That review is largely spoiler-free, but the one for Anna, which both boys saw, quickly devolves into spoiler territory. And that probably tells you everything you need to know about the film, as Luc Besson proves he doesn't have an original bone left in his body.

Which is the better film? And does it really matter? Find out as The Countdown continues ...

    Time Stamps:
    The Dead Don't Die VIRTUALLY SPOILER-FREE Review: 1:06 - 7:25

  • Top 10 TV Theme Songs PRE 2000
This week the boys make good on their promise to deliver the main course of their TV Theme Tunes two-parter, this time covering very best TV themes PRE 2000!

The nostalgia is high in this Ep, as Paul and Wayne take a trip down memory lane, bopping along to their favourite tunes that opened TV shows throughout their youth and into their adulthood.

Cartoons, sitcoms, teen dramas, and sci-fi shows all get their due before the inevitable happens and the guys turn on each other's choices, trying to discredit the other's list.

So slip on your favourite pair of headphones and prepare for all kinds of Happy Days, as it will be Mission: Impossible to not want to hum along to these tunes, as The Countdown continues ...

  • BONUS: Movie Mass Debate - It (2017)
This month's bonus Ep was a bit of an experiment between four great Aussie shows as presided over by one great Kiwi :p
In effect, the podcasters squared off to debate the pros and con's of 2017's It, with the sequel just recently released. Hendo from The IMDB Journey podcast joined forces with Dudi from Shaken Not Nerd and The Countdown's own Paul to argue the very obvious and blatantly correct pros of IT, while Billy and Topher from We Watched a Thing recruited Dean from The IMDB Journey podcast to join the Dark Side and unfairly malign a wonderful film. Even Wayne joins the fray to assist Sam from Movie Reviews in 20 Q's in judging which side takes home the chocolates...
What was meant to be a structured event quickly degenerates into chaos, but it is a heck of a lot of fun and there is much laughter (amid bad language) along the way.
So choose a side and get on board to help determine whether any such Mass debate will ever again take place ...

  • It Chapter Two review
This week Wayne confronts his worst fear - an almost three hour film - as the boys check out It Chapter Two. Does the sequel to the 2017 smash hit hold up? Or is it clown shoes compared to the original?

  • Top 10 TV Theme Songs POST 2000
This week the guys are aiming to get you all humming along as they countdown the very best TV Theme Songs POST 2000? Why post 2000, you might ask? Well, because the boys grossly underestimated the massive amounts of feedback on this topic as well as how much class would have to be left off the list if they kept it to just ten choices. So, an arbitrary separation of the "modern" and "classic" ages of television was agreed upon, and this week, they're tackling the more modern theme songs.
(Consider it an appetiser before the main course NEXT week, when they'll be tackling everything PRE 2000!)
So get these ear worms into you, and decide for yourself who has the superior list of TV theme tunes, as The Countdown continues ...

  • The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance review
For this week's review, the boys are all over Netflix's The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. Well, "all over" means they've seen the first three Eps and one of them is too bored to bother continuing; while the other desperately tries to keep the nostalgic light for his youth burning...

(And, for the record, there are spoilers throughout this review until the end of Ep 3.)

  • Top 10 Hollywood Jerks
This week the boys lay into the actors, directors and producers of Hollywood who have read their own press, feed off their own egos, and are narcissistic beyond any known metric as they countdown their Top 10 Hollywood Jerks (or A-Holes, if you prefer.)
This one contains some fairly incredible stories about some people you'd very much expect, and a couple that might surprise. Wayne takes it upon himself to defend more than one entrant on Paul's list, but at least both are on board as to who takes out the crown as the biggest Hollywood A-Hole ...
All this and an unlikely A-list Hollywood actor turning his hand to rapping, as The Countdown continues ...

  • Angel Has Fallen review
The boys continue their run of terrible action films this week with the third film in the Fallen Mike trilogy, Angel Has Fallen. • Top 10 Action Movie Stars
Strap on your weapon belts, zip up your combat boots, and get ready with a few quippy one-liners, because this week the boys celebrating the biggest names in the action genre by counting down their favourite action movie stars

Woman or man from any era in film, Paul and Wayne make the tough choices on who deserves a place on this sacred (to them) list. And they start with a bold call, immediately ruling out Arnold Schwarzenegger to throw the lists wide open and challenge each other with their eventual number ones.

Who has Steven Seagal on his list, despite the show's storied history with the mumbling, self-proclaimed Akido master? Who ranks Jackie Chan lower than Iko Uwais? And whose list is estrogen free?

Find the answers to all these questions - and more (like is Chow Yun Fat an International Action STAR or International Action HERO?) - as The Countdown continues ...

  • Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw review
It's well overdue - and hence dropping as a bonus Ep - but here are the boys' controversial thoughts about the latest film in the Fast and the Furious Universe (wow, even typing that feels ridiculous), Hobbs and Shaw. This was the second attempt at a review as the first one was so controversial, Audacity felt the need to burn the recording faster than an IMF mission briefing for Ethan Hunt. (Ahh, if only the Fast and the Furious franchise was a patch on the Mission Impossible films.)

So, if you're looking for a positive, glowing take on Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham back and forthing, look elsewhere. Because this one gets extremely negative - in spite of what most of the critics have had to say - as The Countdown makes good on its promise to give you REAL reviews. Come. What. May.

In short, it's an absolute bollocking for this spin off from the Fast and the Furious franchise, and even if only Tyrese Gibson would approve, the guys make no apologies ... as The Countdown continues ...
