The Countdown

Something a little different this week as neither off the guys are into Pokemon, meaning they had to get creative with Detective Pikachu the only wide release on offer. As such, the guys went into their Patreon vault and drew out their review of the Martin Campbell directed, Daniel Craig superstar maker, Casino Royale. This was previously only available to Patrons of the show, but as a sample of all the extra content available to the show's supporters, here is this retro review for you to sample.

Can Wayne put aside his James Bond man-crush long enough to review the film objectively? And does Paul find a way to enjoy this one, having never been a big Bond fan? Find out as The Countdown continues ...

This week the boys are continuing their world tour of the best films by country ... by staying right at home to celebrate the Top 10 Aussie films! This is a topic they did when the show was first starting, but they're revisiting it four years later to see whether their initial views have changed, and what might have forced its way onto the list since that last discussion.

Has Wayne come round to realise that Australian films can be just as classy as those from other film industry in the world? And how many Mad Max films will wind up on Paul's list? Find the answers to these questions and so much more as The Countdown continues ...

This week, the boys review the new Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron odd-couple comedy, Long Shot. It's counter-programming at its finest with Avengers: Endgame continuing to take ALL the money in the word, but can a rom-com with an uncouth edge somehow make a tidy profit in the current market? And just how gross does this Episode become when bodily fluids somehow become involved?

The real long shot however, is Paul somehow liking this rom-com more than Wayne. Can it possibly be? Find out as The Countdown continues ...

Long Shot SPOILER-FILLED Thoughts: 11:43 - 17:18

WARNING: Do NOT eat while listening to this Episode!

This week the boys re-define the depths of grossness as they go all out to test the boundaries of decorum and good taste (but, like, more than usual) as they countdown their Top 10 Gross-Out Comedies of all time!

Every kind of bodily secretion gets far more attention than any one hour of entertainment should allow. And to the surprise of both, it is Wayne who breaks hardest. In a Countdown Podcast first, listen in to learn which Paul chosen and detailed film breaks Wayne and has him declare he can't go on recording!

All this and so much more as The Countdown continues ...

The numbers are in and Avengers: Endgame is the biggest film to have ever opened in movie history! So, of course, the guys have seen it and have their perspectives on whether the film succeeds or falls short of the epic expectations it set for itself with the previous 21 films in the Infinity War saga.

Naturally, the boys have a difference of opinions with Wayne having seen it twice and Paul only just walking out of the cinema to record this review. But who is #Negatron this time around? Will Wayne continue his film hating ways, or will Paul steal back the mantle?

And find out what as#$*le deliberately spoiled the film for Paul ...

Time Stamps:

Avengers: Endgame NON-SPOILER Review: 0:00 - 10:02

Avengers: Endgame Spoiler-Filled Thoughts: 10:02 - 27:35

This week is a very special Episode as the boys say goodbye to one of their very best friends - Scott, a real life hero who valiantly fought cancer for eight years before finally succumbing to the disease - by counting down their Top 10 Heroic Movie Moments.

What ultimate sacrifice is duly acknowledged? What brave act is honoured? Paul and Wayne have a few similar ideas, but it isn't long before this one becomes a full on sledging match like the days of old. So strap yourselves in for a competitive Ep as The Countdown continues ...

The best way to help others like Scott is to donate to charities funding research into cancer, and great friends of the show, the Epic Film Guys are all about that next month between May 17th and 19th with their annual Livestream for the Cure event, Find out all about their efforts to raise $7500 to fight cancer and learn how you can donate to such an important cause at https://fundraise.cancerresearch.org/fundraiser/1947095

This week the boys suffer through hell - Hellboy, to be specific! - to save you from the same fate. Just how bad is this critically panned turkey? Or can Neil Marshall salvage something from the smoking ruin that was the behind the scenes dramas? And most importantly, is there a new #Negatron in the house?

Oh and the guys effectively abandon the whole spoiler thing they're so upset at the film so be warned: SPOILERS KICK OFF from 13:45!

This week, the boys are getting their cry on as they tap into everything that plucks at their heart strings in discussing the Top 10 Tear Jerkers aka Top 10 Films That Made Them Cry.

Wayne is convinced this topic makes him look like less of a man, while Paul wonders whether people will actually acknowledge he does have a heart after hearing this Ep.

Either way, there are plenty of touching moments (no, really) spread between the typically crass humour (yep, really) as The Countdown continues ...

This week, Wayne is dragged under severe protest to check out the reboot/reimagining of Stephen King's Pet Sematary. The film has been doing solid business and the genre websites have given it decent reviews, but can Wayne put aside his anti-horror leanings to give the film a fair review? Or does he go off half-cocked and anger Paul? (All betting agencies have already set the odds at $1.00 for the latter, by way of a predictable spoiler.)

Pet Sematary NON-SPOILER Review: 0:00 - 11:41

Pet Sematary Spoiler-Filled Thoughts: 11:41 - 17:59

This week it's all about finding those scenes which are fantastic despite being stuck within truly terrible films! Those moments of redemption within hours of dribble. Those life-giving oases within dehydrating deserts. Those ... Yeah, okay, you get the drift.

How high will each of the guys have The Phantom Menace lightsaber duel? Who will try to shoe horn in a moment involving an explosion of diarrhea? And how bad is the bonus music track the boys recorded?

Learn the answers to all these questions and more as The Countdown continues ...
