The Countdown episodes

  • Episode 185: Top 10 Character Actors / Bad Times at the El Royale
This week it's either a good time or a bad time at the El Royale as a battle line is drawn right through the middle of the hotel, with one side representing one host's view that it was a quality, suspenseful film, and the other representing the POV that it was a bag of very long winded-ass

And as if that wasn't enough, the boys then clash over who qualifies as a character actor in this week's countdown celebrating those actors and actresses who disappear into their roles or are so utterly believable in any supporting role they take on.

It's certainly a fiery one! And, surprisingly enough, it features far less talk about genitalia than usual (which is how you KNOW the lads got distracted by each other's ridiculous viewpoints!)

  • Episode 184: WORST 10 Hollywood Decisions / Venom
Have you ever shaken your head in dismay at what must go on behind the scenes in the big Hollywood studio boardrooms? Or perhaps you've rolled your eyes while sighing in disgust at the latest studio interference in what should have been a slam dunk of a film? Well Paul and Wayne certainly have and this week they're here to share their major gripes with you as they countdown their Worst 10 Hollywood Decisions. Bad casting, awful script choices, and horrendous choices of director all get a bollocking as the boys take no prisoners in going for the jugular of the Hollywood studio system. (And, of course, talk about balls and other bits of the human anatomy - just in case you were wondering ...)

Find out which studios, filmmakers and franchises cop it the worst, as The Countdown continues!

Strap yourself in, good listeners, because this is a classic Ep of The Countdown if ever there was one. The boys this week square off over the very best ACTION FILMS of the NEW MILLENNIUM! This is a topic near and dear to both their movie-loving hearts, so you can be sure the fireworks erupt amid the usual NSFW banter, insult-firing and jokes about a certain appendage associated only with the Y chromosome.
Which is the best Mission: Impossible film? Should a Bad Boys film make the list? And how low is too low for Mad Mad: Fury Road? Find out on this all new Ep as The Countdown continues ...

  • Episode 182: The Countdown vs Epic Film Guys - Top 10 Raunchy Teen Comedies
Genitals. Everyone has them. And back in the '80s they were all the rage to show on screen. So this week Paul and Wayne invited their oldest podcasting buddies, the Epic Film Guys, Nick and Justin, on to battle over the Top 10 Raunchy Teen Comedies! Which show will triumph with the superior list of comedies featuring late teens obsessively focusing on sex, genitalia, and losing their virginity?
Only you can decide, and this one promises to be the closest ever as both shows demonstrate VERY similar thinking when it comes to the topic at hand.
The Ep also features one of the funniest moments ever recorded for the show, as one of the list-makers reveals something extremely personal from his experimental youth (for which you simply cannot possibly be prepared).
So sit back with a box of tissues, some hand lotion, and a raging ... intent to laugh, as The Countdown continues!
    Time Stamps:

  • Episode 181: Top 10 Last 10 / The Predator
The Top 10 Last 10 Countdown is back this week, as the guys countdown ten of the latest films they've seen from worst to best. And if that sounds like there might not be too many fireworks to go with this show, you best buckle in tight, because this Ep has a bit of everything that makes this podcast what it is: disagreements, incredulous consternation, bad language, insults aplenty, antagonising use of The Soundboard, Wayne listening to the listeners and righting a viewing oversight, and even a classic rope-a-dope.
And that's just during the Top 10 Last 10! The REAL fireworks go off when the boys square off over the latest film in a beloved sci-fi franchise and Paul's most anticipated film of 2018, Shane Black's The Predator. Negatron is most definitely in play, but is it the person who usually dons that persona this week?
Find out as The Countdown continues ...

Be it early in the dating process, or after spending years with that special someone, the boys reveal some pearlers (and a bunch of dodgy choices) which are sure to bring you and your present or future-based significant other a little closer together.

  • Episode 179: Top 10 Inspirational Films / Mile 22
This week is another Patron Directed Ep, with Chris Clifton (aka Cliffy) directing the boys to Countdown their Top 10 Most Inspirational Films. This one ends up being quite the insight into the hosts' heads (as well as their respective testosterone counts), so prepare for some deeper content ... even if it is interwoven with the same foul language and general shade-throwing that you've come to expect from The Countdown. (They really don't know any other way.)
And as it that isn't enough, the REAL controversy occurs when Wayne and Paul review this week's new release, the latest Peter Berg and Mark Whalberg collaboration, Mile 22. It's a highly combative stand-off as one of the boys likes it a great deal, and the other wouldn't defecate on it for all the money at a sleazy Amsterdam nightclub.
So strap yourselves in ladies and gentlemen, this one gets a bit wild as The Countdown continues ...

  • Episode 178: Top10 TV (Romantic) Couples / The Happytime Murders

Rippling veiny muscles. Unsheathed swords. Tiny loin cloths. These are some of Wayne's regular google searches.

Which works fine for this episode, because this week, the boys are counting down their Top Ten Sword and Sorcery films! And they're getting some help from across the pond, as Sam and Matiu from the Movie Reviews in 20 Q's Podcast join them to talk all things medieval in another show vs show countdown! Hilarity ensues as the two (strikingly similar) podcasting duos go blade to blade - who will win? Only you can decide!
