The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the 6th study session on Andrée Blouin's My Country, Africa: Autobiography of the Black Pasionaria. A pivotal figure in the history of counter-racism/anti-colonialism throughout the continent of Africa, Blouin is not as well known as South Africa's Madiba and Winnie Mandela, Kenya's Maus Maus and other freedom fighters who participated in combating White Terrorism in Africa. However, Blouin was of monumental importance and, consequently, a target of CIA/White Supremacy campaigns. Gus T. was ignorant about Ms. Blouin, but she was prominently featured in the new documentary, Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat - which examines the assassination of Patrice Lumumba. The film makes time to quote from Blouin's autobiography about the efforts to assassinate she, her family and Lumumba. Last week, Blouin detailed her traumatic concerns for the health of her second child. Her latest White male partner seemed ambivalent or unconcerned about securing medical attention. He only relented when Blouin caused a public spectacle arguing with White people who insisted medical assistance is for Whites only. The White man refused to allow her mother into his residence and made it a habit to brutalize and maim the black people who served him. Ironically, Blouin's mother castigated her for being tragically involved with a White Man. We'll also reflect on the damage from Hurricanes Milton and Helene, given the evidence that these catastrophes are more destructive for non-white people. With the US presidential heading to a climax, VP Kamala Harris detailed plans for boosting the finances of black dudes, too late for Dennoriss Richardson, and even made time to hang out with Fox News. We also heard a fascinating investigation into the motivating factors for teens utilize vaping products. Racist Suspect and champion of White Women's Rights in the workplace, Lilly Ledbetter died this week in Alabama at the age of 86. During President Obama's first time and first year in office, Ledbetter stood with the former president as federal legislation was passed to help White Women close the so-called gender pay gap. Meanwhile, non-while males and non-white females continue to lag behind the wages of White Men and White Women. We're over half done with the month of October, which means next month's presidential elections is closing. Non-white people are encouraged to remain codified in the workplace with our mouths closed about the ballot box and all candidates. Blouin ultimately repeats the same behaviors of her mother, having sexual intercourse and producing a child with an older White Man. He absconds before the pale child with gold hair is born. Importantly, Blouin begins to ask lots of questions to learn more about the world and the System of White Supremacy.

The response to the storm became a contested talking point for the US presidential election. President Obama joined the campaign trail to chastise black males for lacking enthusiasm for VP Kamala Harris. Gus can't recall any candidate exclusively chastising the political views of White Women, White Men, Black females or other group. Most White people did not vote for Obama in 2008 or 2012, but no former president excoriated them for their Racist rejection of a non-white person with a White parent. We also discuss this suspicious death of Dennoriss Richardson, who was found hanging from a rope at an abandoned Alabama property. #ANTIBLACKNESS Shortly after the memorials for the 19 years of anguish and rebuilding in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and the 2005 New Orleans levee failure, Hurricane Helene devastated much of the eastern US. From Florida to Tennessee, power outages, devastation and flooding been apocalyptic. As of today, at least 200 deaths are attributed to the Helene, making this the deadliest hurricane since Katrina. Like Katrina, some have used this moment to criticize the presidential administration's response to the disaster - which could influence next month's voting. We'll also pay respects to the late humanitarian and Victim of White Supremacy Dikembe Mutombo, who died this week at the age of 58. Born in the Congo, Mutombo used his NBA wealth to build a hospital in his native Congo. Tens of thousands of dockworkers in the US went on strike this week for better compensation and, importantly, prohibitions against automated technology. Some of the dockworkers took issue with even the use of automated gate at one of the shipping facilities. Apparently, automation or not, the US ports operate at one of the slowest rates in the known universe. Last week, a postal worker was attacked in a dispute over political paraphernalia for the coming presidential election. The United States Post Office made a warning about potential staffing and service problems as the November election nears.
