Harvard University announced plans for a $100 million endowment to compensate for the institutions enslavement of black people. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly forum on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. Seemingly all year long, we've seen continued reports of black employees being called Racist slurs and terrorized while working. Rachel Scheuerman is the latest Race Soldier to target a hard working black employee. Scheuerman visited an Oklahoma Little Caesar’s and became enraged when she was told they did not have "crazy bread." The 71-year-old White Woman exited her vehicle and called the 17-year-old employee a "nigger." After the verbal tirade she struck the black male in the face and snickered. She's currently charged with “malicious harassment based upon race,” which is a misdemeanor. Again, non-white people must be prepared and never shocked about any White person using Racist slurs - even while at work. We also discussed a female listener's suggestion that females maintain one hairstyle for the duration of their work career. Prudishness has it's benefits in a system rife with sexual misconduct. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 7th study session on Essie Mae Washington-Williams' Dear Senator: A Memoir by the Daughter of J. Strom Thurmond. We're beyond the halfway point of the book, and Gus must admit this is likely one of the saddest books he's ever read. Essie Mae's confusion and father hunger for a child raping White Supremacist is... a sorrow-filled existence. Additionally, the lynchings and gender-specific targeting of black males are such traumatic, constant events in Essie Mae's life, readers can mark time by tracking black male corpses. Last week, Essie Mae lost her college care mate, Matthew J. Perry, as he joined the service to fight in World War II. Eventually, Julius Williams swooped in, and he and Essie Mae were married. Strangely, Williams had no knowledge about his new White father-in-law, Governor J. Strom Thurmond. Tragically, Essie-Mae's mother never got to meet her son-in-law. She died from kidney failure at age 38. Left with "Ol' Strom," Essie Mae has to make her way in the world as a new wife and mother. Gov. Thurmond comes back into her life with a sack of cash - Gus estimates he dropped at least $1,000 on his "biracial" daughter. Essie Mae tells her father about the death of Carrie Butler, and Thurmond seemed unaware and speechless. He stammered through a lot of lame excuses about his tacky arrangement with Butler, his new White wife (age 21), and his public support of White Supremacy on the campaign trail. Interestingly, Essie Mae conceals Thurmond's sizable cash payments from her attempted husband.

The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. George Hutchinson. The Newton C. Farr Professor of American Culture at Cornell University, Dr. Hutchinson examines 19th and 20th century American literature and culture - especially in relation to White Supremacy/Racism. He has a special affinity for Walt Whitman and the Harlem Renaissance. While reading Essie Mae Washington-Williams's memoir, Dear Senator. She talks about Nella Larsen's famed novel, Passing, but also provides details about Larsen's life and times - including her time as a nurse at Booker T. Washington's Tuskegee. This inspired Gus to checkout Dr. Hutchinson's biography of Larsen, In Search of Nella Larsen: A Biography of the Color Line. We'll discuss his extensive research of this reclusive literary figure. Like Essie Mae, Larsen also has one White parent and one non-white parent. Racial Classification Confusion is on ample display in both ladies's writing. We'll discuss Dr. Hutchinson's use of incorrect terms such as "color line" and get his thoughts on the recent adaptation of Larson's Passing into a major motion picture. He talked climate change and made a mess of traffic before hitting the road. The courts struck down the travel mask mandate on plains, buses and subways, which caused applause, confusion, and a new batch of Covid-19 rules. The president announced plans to appeal the decision. Major League Baseball recognized the extraordinary White Supremacy practiced against Jackie Robinson during his debut season 75 years ago. They frequently repeat the lie about Robinson being the first black player allowed to play professional baseball with Whites (It was actually Moses Fleetwood Walker). In Chicago, the residence where Black Panther Party member Fed Hampton lived as a child will be marked as a historic site. For decades, his 1969 assassination was celebrated by Chicago Police officers and Whites in general.

This teen worker has a retail job. He questioned a pair of White men who appeared to have looted soda pops. Apparently, the suspected looters mocked her young son and scoffed at the notion that they were #CrimingWhileWhite Interestingly, a black manager advised her child to let it go, "just two sodas." We'll discuss how other non-white parents would speak to their offspring about a situation like this. Gus encourages reviewing the policy and procedure for shoplifting. Unfortunately, Willie Earle was lynched shortly after her enrollment at SC State. A White Terrorist mob snatched him from prison, butchered and shot him. No one was convicted. Essie Mae noted that none of her black classmates seemed concerned about lynching in their state. They seemed to think they were "better" than the "regular" black people who are lynched. Essie Mae also described dating Judge Matthew J. Perry until Adolf Hitler and World War II snatched him into the service. Eventually, Perry became a South Carolina lawyer, judge and member of the state Hall of Fame. Her father made time to visit Essie Mae between being governor of the state and marrying a 21-year-old White Woman, Jean Crouch, who "caught his eye" when she was 15-years-old. We'll ask our international participants about the latest developments with the conflict in Ukraine. We'll also hear about the recent theater adaptation of Andrea Levy's Small Island, which depicts black immigrants who ventured to Europe during and after World War II. They helped topple Adolf Hitler, but were subjected to White Supremacy/Racism and denied proper documentation. James, a 62-year-old black male, is in custody as the alleged shooter on a Brooklyn subway earlier this week. Thankfully, no one perished, but nearly two dozen people were injured from gun fire, smoke inhalation, and fleeing the chaos. New York City, like many other major U.S. cities, has reported an increase in gun violence over the two years of the pandemic, and this is dramatic emphasis of the problem. In Michigan, none of the Whites accused of plotting to kidnap and execute Governor Gretchen Whitmer have been convicted - two not guilty verdicts and two mistrials so far. Meanwhile, Patrick Lyoya was fatally shot in the back of the head by a White Grand Rapids enforcement official. We also discuss the conviction of Ed Buck. A power-broker for the Democratic party, Buck was sentenced to thirty years for drugging, killing and sexually violating black males.
