Sometimes we get so caught up in trying to finish something, or trying to start it, that we end up spending a few anguished moments of our day before we get frustrated and then kick the can down the line, the task always on our mind, weighing us down and pretty much keeping a little black cloud over us. Not only do we not finish our project but we also constantly feel bad about ourselves for being so lazy/uncreative/dumb.

It is a feeling of support when a community of people understand and share your goals.

There is a really big difference between audience and community. An audience is one-way. Not interactive. Not social. An audience passively watches or reads. An audience doesn’t participate. Or share with others.

On the other hand, a community is a two-way conversation. A living, breathing thing. Extremely interactive. Social. Sure, some people just watch or read, but may also participate and share with their friends.

One of the most interesting conversations I’ve been having with people recently has revolved around the importance of friendships and thinking critically about the people you spend your time with, both while at work and when not working.

Challenge yourself to truthfully assess if you have toxic and negative relationships in your life.

I realize that there are people in my life who aren’t helping me be my best; they may even be holding me back. I want to surround myself with the right people

Intelligent people are constantly trying to be better versions of themselves. 

Acting better or more qualified than you are is an important step to actually becoming better. Pretending is a teaching tool. The only way to improve your life is to put yourself out in the world as something you’re not first.
