York Hospital Radio’s Head of Sport Phil Bewers speaks to York City manager Adam Hinshelwood ahead of this weekends home game with Yeovil Town. The Minstermen are looking to bounce back following their defeat last week at Forest Green Rovers.
This guest needs little introduction, York City manager Adam Hinshelwood. In this interview we discuss everything from his playing career, coaching philosophy, time at Worthing to, of course, his meteoric rise at York City from the humbling 6-1 defeat at Altrincham where the club looked odds on for a relegation to the top of the league where the club proudly sits now.
This interview was conducted by Dan Tait, edited and produced by James Charters.
The final guest from this months supporters trust social was York City's top scorer, Ollie Pearce. After scoring 155 goals for Worthing, Ollie joined Adam Hinshelwood's Minstermen this summer and has been in red hot form and become a firm fan favourite. This interview discusses his career to date including representing England C, his take on the adjustments he has had to make turning full-time, stepping up in levels and his highlights so far in a York City shirt.
As part of the monthly Supporters Trust social events, York Hospital Radio's Dan Tait interviewed York City goalkeeper Harrison Male live from Brew York. Harrison discusses the season so far including knee slides at Halifax, keeper rotation, the winners mentality in the group as well as looking back to earlier spells in his career with Worthing, Dorking, Leeds United and caps for England U15s, 17s and C team.
As part of the latest Supporters Trust event, Dan Tait spoke to club ambassador Ian Blackstone about his time at Bootham Crescent. Ian only turned professional at the age of 25 but discusses his hat-trick at Wrexham, development under genius John Ward, avoiding Alan Little in training games and playing at the old Wembley Stadium as well as many other tales from his playing days.
The trust socials take place the first Wednesday of every month at Brew York, free to everyone to attend.
Phil Bewers caught up with Adam Hinshelwood ahead of this weekends clash with Hartlepool United. They discuss the potential crowd, Joe Felix’s first goal for the club and an update on club captain Lennell John Lewis's injury.
Hospital Radio's Dan Tait, season ticket holder Mark Debnam and Steve Ovenden, aka the Original Yorkie the Lion, discuss York City's FA Cup tie at Wycombe Wanderers before giving their best and worst experiences of football's most iconic competition. From the highs of beating Arsenal to the lows of losing at home to Buxton.
The podcast episode where we completely get carried away but after so many lows in the recent history of York City Football Club, why shouldn't we. Our panel for this show is Jim Calverley from the supporters trust, regular sharp shooter Mark Debnam and special guest, Steve Ovenden aka the original Yorkie the Lion. Topical discussion points include the potential and predictions for the remainder of the season, is this the meanest centre back partnership since Lowe and McCombe, are there really no weak links in the squad?
