Another day, another Shakespeare Sonnet.

This week I hung out in Birmingham, Alabama for a couple of days with an artist friend. We walked all around downtown, had great conversations, lots of great food and coffee, and also did some painting.

In one of our conversations (at a pizza place called "Slice") we discussed this one by Emily Dickinson...

This poem brings back alot of wonderful memories of my own childhood, but the closing line of his is the opposite for me.

How's the weather where you are?

Here in east Mississippi it's gotten to be pretty seasonal after a cooler than usual spring. It will continue to get warmer, and possibly even more humid over the next few weeks, but we're well on our way to a good old southern summer.

This one of the most well known and beloved passages in the Bible. It's gotten many a person through a difficult point in their life.

And just like Herman Melville was an actual whaler before writing Moby Dick, David was an actual shepherd before he rose from the ranks of the commoners to become King of Israel.

John 10 is a great parallel passage to this psalm, by the way...
