Good Trouble
The US DOE has released the details of its Patriotic Education Program. States have a choice to opt in, but they're basically dangling the grant money like a carrot on a stick. Teach history our way, or else.
Partners of the curriculum include Prager U and Turning Point USA, which push a glossy whitewashed narrative of slavery, rather than the brutal honesty students need.
There is a comment period open until October 17th. So please lend your voice against extreme RW ideology creeping into our public schools.|
Accessing the comment portal has a few steps and a long link, so here's a FB post from Mrs. Frazzled that lays it out with some screenshots to help.

Debbie : I am currently spending this rainy CO Tuesday (9/23/25) alternately text-banking for Fair Fight Action and the ACLU. The ACLU is asking people to join their September People Power Action Call on Thursday, September 25th at 8 PM ET, where they'll break down Trump's abuses of power (from deploying the National Guard in LA and DC, to intimidating and silencing protestors and his political opponents), why it matters for all of us, and how we can fight back together - including through mass mobilization.

The second good trouble is to wear a paper clip (I'm making a paper clip necklace because a paper clip doesn't work well on my obnoxious tee-shirts that I wear constantly).  Norwegians wore a paper clip during WWII to symbolize resistance to the Nazis.  Now it's our turn.  Subtle, but Great.  I'm also putting a few paper clips on the sign on my apartment door and suggesting that everyone look up paper clips and WWII.
