The goals of the movement were to stop increases in student fees as well as to increase government funding of universities. That goal was achieved, but still there are issues playing themselves out in SA universities, that ‘compell’ students to protest. The latest, are the Protests at universities across KwaZulu-Natal. This after violence erupted on campuses belonging to the University of KwaZulu-Natal on Monday. Students are demanding free and quality education for all, and for students to be allowed to register without having to settle outstanding 2018 fees.
