The Inkatha Freedom Party leader, Inkosi Mangosuthu Buthelezi has rejected proposals by the ANC for the government to take control of rural land‚ including that owned by the Ingonyama Trust. Buthelezi was among the traditional leaders who attended an Imbizo in Ulundi in northern KwaZulu-Natal. The Imbizio was initiated by the King of the amaZulu, Goodwill Zwelithini. Statistics South Africa says almost ten million people had formal sector jobs in the first quarter of this year. Last week, Stats SA released its jobs data at a media function in Johannesburg. Stats SA says formal sector jobs increased by 54-thousand in the first quarter. The South African Post Office has announced the transfer of over 1 million social grants beneficiaries from the outgoing CPS Sassa card to the new Sassa card issued by Postbank.
