When she was diagnosed with HIV at age 27, Sameshni Moodley thought her life was coming to an end. Sameshni, who was raised in an Indian household with a mentality that HIV would not affect her, resorted to substance abuse and binge eating, after finding out that she was positive. After realizing that the virus does not discriminate, she made something of herself and now lives as a pillar of hope for the Indian community.

Since Google announced its Digital Skills for Africa programme in April 2016, it has trained over 2 million young Africans in 900 communities across 29 countries. Their initial target of training 1 million young Africans on digital skills was met in March 2017, and extended to 10m in five years in July 2017. Now, Google is deepening its focus to ensure it achieves its target through launching Digital Skills in communities and aim to train jobseekers and businesses where they are - in roughly 100 communities across a number of countries including South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya.
