The IFP held it’s Policy review Summit this past workers. This morning we unpack the outcomes of their Policy Review Summit which took place past weekend. This Summit formed a vital part of our strategic preparations for the 2019 national and provincial elections.

Zimbabwe held its first elections yesterday, since former president Robert Mugabe was ousted out of power last year. Monday's elections marked the first time in 38 years Zimbabweans did not see Mugabe's name on the ballot paper. The release of Eskom’s 2017/2018 financial results revealed a net loss of R2.3 billion and irregular expenditure of R19.6 billion since 2012, revealing the extent of its financial distress. A recent study by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) also indicates that Microplastic waste totals approximately 0.13 Mtons/a for Africa – 8% of all plastic waste generated in the region, equivalent to 22 grocery bags per capita per annum. it has been reported that potentially harmful levels of these pollutants are collecting in metropolitan fresh water systems such as Johannesburg and Potchefstroom according to the Water Research Commission of South Africa.
