The Apostle Paul mastered a word that seems so elusive in our world today.

So many people live with an attitude of "just a little bit more." They think if they can just have that new car, new house, new career, or even a new spouse, they would be happy. They feel they can never be happy unless all their needs are met. To make it worse, the line between their needs and wants is often blurred.

The word Paul had mastered was "contentment."

We live in a discontented world.

Most of the financial problems we experience are caused by of our lack of contentment. We buy things we can't afford, hoping it will bring satisfaction in our life.

We work harder and buy more things, just to try and satisfy our lack of contentment.

True contentment is not based on your situation or circumstance. True contentment isn't found in what you own or your position in life. True Contentment comes for the Lord.

2 Corinthians 12:9 - But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

The Apostle Paul was in a particularly difficult time in his life. He had prayed and prayed for God to remove what he called a "thorn in his flesh." We don't know that the "thorn in the flesh" was. It could have been a physical ailment, or it could have been the continued persecution he received as he preached the Gospel.

We do know that Paul felt the "thorn" limited his ministry and affected his life. We know Paul asked God on three different occasions to remove it.

God finally answered his prayer by saying, "My grace is sufficient for you." Then God went on to say that His power was made evident in Paul's weakness.

What is God's Grace? God's grace is His unmerited favor. It's God's love, expressed for no other reason than He is a loving God.

God's grace in your life strengthens and empowers you. His grace brought about your salvation. There was nothing you did to make God love you. It was His grace that drew you to Himself in the first place.

Palm 23 is one of the most well known, and favorite passages in the Old Testament. It's often recited at funerals, but this Psalm has far more to say about living than it does about death.

Have you ever felt like you were walking through the valley of the shadow of death? Maybe you are in the valley right now?

God has never promised you immunity from difficult times. You will face the shadow of the valley at one time or another.

God has promised to be with you and to protect you when you face your darkest days.

We began the week seeing how God is your steadfast anchor. When the storm comes, He keeps you from being tossed about by the waves and seas. - Hebrews 6:19

On Tuesday, we celebrated the fact that you are led by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit leads you, guides you, and speaks to you on a regular basis. - Romans 8:13

Midway through the week, you confessed that you walk by faith and not by sight. As a growing Christian, you walk by faith. You put your focus on the eternal unseen world, not the seen temporal world around you. - 2 Corinthians 5:6

On Thursday saw how you are no longer a slave to sin. God broke the power of sin over you and has given you a new nature that longs to walk in obedience to Him. - Hebrews 6:6-7

On Friday we saw how God is seeking you out as your heart is fully His, so He can bless, strengthen, and support you. - 2 Chronicles 16:9

Did you know that God is searching for people like you who are completely trusting Him?

Imagine the God of the universe is searching the earth for people who He can support, bless, and strengthen. The only criteria is that their hearts must be blameless before Him.

A blameless heart doesn't mean a perfect or sinless heart. A blameless heart is a heart that is completely yielded and trusting in God. The person with a blameless heart has decided to be a fully devoted follower of Christ. They are not an on again off again follower. The decision has been made, and they are fully committed.
