Today's Promise: John 7:37-38
Jesus promised living water to those who would come to Him. His living water satisfies your soul and refreshes your spirit. When you drink His living water, you never thirst again.
Jesus said this living water would bubble up from within and overflow to the world around you. It is a constant supply of satisfaction and renewal.
As a believer, the promise of Jesus is the living water of the Holy Spirit flowing from within you. He is a never-ending source of comfort, joy, refreshment, and power.
Today's Promise: Psalm 86:7
What do you do when you face a significant problem that rocks your world? No matter who you are, there are days of trouble. Sometimes you have caused them, and sometimes trouble just seems to appear at your doorstep.
You can respond in fear and worry. You can complain about your condition, or you can call on the Lord.
God promises that when you call on Him, He will answer and will never leave you to face your day of trouble alone.
Today's Promise: Psalm 145:8
Here are four character qualities of God listed in this promise.
1. God is gracious. God's grace is His love in action. Grace is getting what you don't deserve.
2. God is merciful. Mercy is not getting what you deserve.
3. God is slow to anger. God always gives room for repentance. At times, His anger is poured out in righteous judgment, but only as a last resort.
4. God is great in lovingkindness. Lovingkindness is commitment love. It is God's lovingkindness that releases His grace and mercy into your life.
Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review this week's promises so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts and lives.
Here are the promises we covered this week.
1 Kings 8:56 – God Will Always Keep His Promises.
Romans 8:31 – If God is for You, Who is Against You.
John 16:7 – Jesus Promised the Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 12:15 – My Bitterness is Removed.
James 1:5 – Ask God for Wisdom.
Today's Promise: James 1:5
There is a difference between knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge is all about the facts; wisdom is about what you do with the facts. Wisdom is about how you live and the choices you make.
Our world is drowning in knowledge. You can find the answer to almost any question or problem in the palm of your hand.
We know more, but are we living any better? Are we making better choices? Are we living wisely?
God's wisdom helps you understand the world around you so you can live successfully.
Today's Promise: Hebrews 12:15
You can't go through life without experiencing hurt or disappointment.
If you aren't careful, those hurts and disappointments can take hold in your heart. Unforgiveness always leads to bitterness.
You remove the root of bitterness through forgiveness.
As you show others the same grace and forgiveness Christ gives you, you will find those roots of bitterness wither and die.
It takes time, but as you release forgiveness through the grace of God, you will find new freedom, joy, and happiness.
Today's Promise: John 16:7
Imagine what it must have been like to have walked with Jesus. Imagine seeing Jesus heal the sick, raise the dead, feed the five thousand, and even walk on water.
Now, imagine how the disciples felt when Jesus said He was going away, and His going away was to their advantage.
Even for us, it's hard to believe that anything could be better than seeing Jesus with our own eyes. Jesus promised that when He left, He would send the Holy Spirit, who would comfort, teach, and empower them.
Today's Promise: Romans 8:31
Do you ever feel like the world is working against you? I've got good news. God is on your side.
Imagine the God of the universe standing beside you as you face any and every problem. How can you possibly be afraid while the Lord Jesus stands beside you?
The God who freely gave His only Son for your salvation is the God who stands beside you in every situation.
You can face your greatest challenges and fears because God is on your side.
Today's Promise: 1 Kings 8:56
The God you serve is a promise-keeping God.
In this scripture, Solomon gives a blessing to the people of God. He reviews their history and reminds them that God's promises never fail. What God said He would do; He did.
The God you serve is the God who makes good on His word. You and I can stand alongside King Solomon and agree that not one of God's promises has failed.
Faith believes that what God has said, He will do.
