The Daily Promise

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises of the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts and lives.

Here are the promises we covered this week.

Isaiah 44:3 - God Gives Water to the Thirsty

Psalm 90:2 – I Will Number My Days

Isaiah 43:19 - God is Doing a New Work

John 10:10 – Jesus Promises Abundant Life

1 Corinthians 10:13 – You Have Victory Over Every Temptation

Today's Promise: John 10:10

Jesus came to give you life. Not just life, but abundant life, overflowing life, unending life.

Abundant life is eternal life. There is no fear of death for the Christian. We know that when we close our eyes in death, we open them in the presence of God.

But we don't have to wait for heaven to experience the abundant life that Jesus promised. The abundant life begins the day we give our hearts to Christ.

Today's Promise: Isiah 43:19

Aren't you glad you serve the God of new beginnings? Every 24 hours, He gives us a new day and a new year every 365 days.

I believe God gives us each new year as a chance to start afresh. No matter what last year was like, we can pick up a new calendar and start anew.

The God of new beginnings wants to do a new thing in your life today.

If you let Him, this year can be the beginning of a new and deeper walk with Jesus.

Today's Promise: Psalm 90:12

If we aren't careful, life has a tendency to slip away. God commands us to number our days.

Numbering your days reminds you that you have a limited number of days. It teaches you to treasure each day and live with intention.

Every moment is precious. Every day and year is a gift from the Lord. Count every day and use it for God's glory.

Today's Promise: Isaiah 44:3

Have you ever been really thirsty? Have you ever been so thirsty you would give anything for a cool drink of water?

There is another thirst that goes beyond hot summer days: the thirst of the soul. When you are spiritually thirsty, your heart and spirit have dried up, and there is no water.

God promises to pour out the refreshing water of the Holy Spirit on those who are thirsty. He will come and pour the Holy Spirit on us. We don't have to live in spiritual dryness.

Here are the promises we covered this week.

Luke 2:10-12 – The Good News of Jesus' Birth

Romans 15:13 – My Prayer for You

Psalm 92:12-14 – You Will Flourish in Your Old Age

Jeremiah 32:27 – In Anything Too Hard for God?

Today's Promise: Jeremiah 32:27

Nothing is too difficult for your God. No matter what you are facing or what you are going through, your God can handle it. When God calls you to a new ministry or to take on a new responsibility, He can handle it.

If you are struggling with a decision or facing a problem you feel you just can't handle, remember, "God's got this."

If God can create the universe just by speaking it into being, He can handle the problems you face. Nothing is impossible for Him.

Today's Promise: Psalm 92:12-14

As followers of Christ, God promises we can thrive and be fruitful now and in our old age.

In this promise, the psalmist says four things about the righteous man or those who have the righteousness in Christ.

First, you will flourish like a palm tree. God promises that you can thrive even when life is difficult.

Second, as you walk with the Lord, you will be strong when others fail.

Third, you will live in the presence of God.

Fourth, you will continue to be fruitful and thrive in your old age.

Today's Verse: Romans 15:13

Today, I echo the prayer the Apostle Paul made for the church in Rome. I am praying you remember that the God you serve is the hope-filled and hope-giving God. He is the source of all hope. You can't muster up hope; it only comes from God.

Today, I am praying God fills you with Joy and peace that come only from Him.

As you trust in the Lord and walk in joy and peace, hope will abound in you through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Today's Promise: Luke 2:10-11

The angels delivered a promise to the shepherds that night in the fields outside Bethlehem. In this episode, we explore four truths in that angelic proclamation. Jesus is the Lord and Savior of the world.
